Jason Momoa On For Drax The Destroyer In Guardians Of The Galaxy?

February 18, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jason-momoaA couple of weeks ago Parks And Recreation star Chris Pratt signed up to play the lead role of Peter Quill in Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy. Now we may have news of who’s going to play another of the major roles, as Latino Review reports Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones, Conan the Barbarian) is in talks to play Drax the Destroyer.

With pre-production already underway in London, Jason Momoa reportedly flew to the UK last Wednesday to screen test for the role, with Marvel offering him the part shortly thereafter. The actor beat out others such as Isaiah Mustafa, Dave Bautista, and Brian Patrick for the part.

Drax the Destroyer was born as the human Arthur Douglas, however his family was attacked and murdered by the villainous Thanos. Arthur’s spirit was then placed into a powerful new body by Kronos, which resulted in Drax the Destroyer’s creation. His powers include incredible strength and the ability to emit energy blasts from his hands.

James Gunn is directing the film from his own screenplay.

Jason Momoa Signs Up To Get Villainous In Wolves

August 25, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Jason Momoa was tipped to break out with Conan The Barbarian, but that unfortunately didn’t happen. However maybe he’ll have more luck with Wolves, as THR reports he’s in talks to play the villain in the film, which will makr the directorial debut of screenwriter David Hayter (X-Men).

The first news on the project emerged earlier this month, when Lucas Till signed on for the lead role. The movie is about a young man who transforms into a werewolf after being falsely accused of committing his parents’ murder. He comes across a small town called Lupine Ridge, which holds the secrets of his real identity. No details are known for Jason Momoa’s villainous character.

David Hayter is directing from his own original screenplay, with filming set to begin this autumn in Toronto.

Bullet To The Head Trailer – Sly Stallone turns hitman

August 17, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

With The Expendables 2 out today, it’s a good time to release trailers for the stars’ upcoming movie. We’ve just had one for Arnie’s The Last Stand and now we’ve got Sylvester Stallone Bullet To The Head. Based on a graphic novel, Bullet to the Head tells the story of a New Orleans hitman (Stallone) and a New York City cop (Sung Kang) who form an alliance to bring down the killers of their respective partners. Walter Hill directs, suggesting this may be one to look out for.

First Pic Of Stallone In Bullet To the Head

December 19, 2011 By Movie Muser Leave a Comment

The first image of Sylvester Stallone in Bullet To The Head has been released and certainly wants to prove that despite recently reaching pensionable age, the actor shows no signs of slowing down or shying away from full-on action. However we would like to point out that fighting with axes is just a bad idea.

In the film he’s teamed with a young NYPD detective in a high-stakes investigation that leads from the dingy back alleys of New Orleans all the way to the power corridors of Washington, D.C. The unlikely duo, brought together by two vicious murders, take on all who stand in their way, and are willing to sacrifice everything to exact revenge.

And while we’re feeling the Stallone vibe, take a look at a new official poster for The Expendables 2 below, which is due out in August.
