At the end of last week, the actor who plays Dylan in Modern Family, Reid Ewing, impressed many when he spoke out about the issues he’s had with body dymorphia. It’s a condition that meant that when he looked in the mirror he could only see things he disliked and which he thought needed sorting. It drove him to have numerous plastic surgeries, but in his head each one only highlighted something else he thought ought to be remedied.

Now he’s decided to really own his own truth, as after talking about his body dysmorphia issues, the 27-year-old nonchalantly confirmed he is gay over the weekend on Twitter.

He first tweeted, ‘Saw Eugene Bata on @GMA in the Body Dysmorphia segment connected to my article and I just want to say he is hot af.’

When asked whether he’d just outed himself, Ewing answered, ‘I was never in’.
