The Amazing Spider-man Four-Minute ‘Super Preview’

May 15, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

While there were many groans when it was announced they were rebooting Spider-man so soon after Sam Raimi’s take on the character, the more we’ve seen, the cooler it’s looked, with Marc Webb’s film reinserting the wisecracking humour of the character, as well as having a rather cool look, which is partway between comic book and reality. Now a rather exciting four-minute preview has shown up, which gives us a great look at the movie.

Here’s the latest synopsis: ‘The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.’ The film’s out July 4th.

May 14, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’s not too long until The Amazing Spider-man hits on July 4th, and now a new featurette has arrived that takes a look at Dr. Curt Connors, as played by Rhys Ifans, who becomes the villainous Lizard. Here’s the latest synopsis: ‘One of the world’s most popular characters is back on the big screen as a new chapter in the Spider-Man legacy is revealed in The Amazing Spider-Man™. Focusing on an untold story that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story, the new film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, with Martin Sheen and Sally Field. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay written by James Vanderbilt, based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad, and Matt Tolmach are producing the film in association with Marvel Entertainment for Columbia Pictures, which will open in theatres everywhere in 3D.

New Amazing Spider-man Trailer – Meet The Lizard

May 3, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Sony has been promising it all week and now it’s here, the rather groovy brand new international trailer for The Amazing Spider-man, which gives us out best look at the movie yet, including the villainous Lizard. Earlier today the first official in-movie shots of the character were released (taken from the trailer) and you can see those below.

Here’s the latest synopsis: ‘One of the world’s most popular characters is back on the big screen as a new chapter in the Spider-Man legacy is revealed in The Amazing Spider-Man™. New The Amazing Spider-man International Trailer

April 16, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Although early reports suggested Sony wanted a lower budget Spider-man with their Marc Webb directed reboot, the latest round of trailers certainly suggest it won’t be any less spectacular and also injects some of the humour of Spidey that was lacking from Sam Raimi’s film. In the film, Peter Parker finds a clue that might help him understand why his parents disappeared when he was young. His path puts him on a collision course with Dr. Curt Connors, his father’s former partner, who is also the villainous Lizard. The movie’s out July 4th.

The Amazing Spider-man International Trailer

February 16, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Anticipation for The Amazing Spider-man jumped considerably when a new, rather spectacular trailer was launched a couple of weeks ago. Now a new international version of that trailer has been released, which features some new footage from the big summer movie. Billed as ‘untold stories’ from Spider-man rather than a remake of Sam Raimi’s movies, Andrew Garfield takes over the web-slinging and goes back to high school. It’ll hit cinemas July 3rd.

New Amazing Spider-man Trailer Arrives

February 7, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Director Marc Webb is keen to sell The Amazing Spider-man as ‘untold stories’ about the superhero rather than a remake of the Sam Raimi series, but the more we see, the more it looks like a very different beast to when Tobey Maguire was behind the mask. For a start it’s getting back to the wisecracking Peter Parker rather than the po-faced one of Raimi. Now a new trailer is letting us have our best look yet at the film, introducing us more to the story and action, as well as giving us our first look at the villainous Lizard. It certainly looks like it’s gonna be spectacular! The movie hits cinemas July 3rd.

First Photo Of Amazing Spider-man’s Lizard?

January 3, 2012 By Movie Muser Leave a Comment

We may have got our first photo of Amazing Spider-man bad guy, Lizard (played by Rhys Ifans), but it’s come from a slightly unusual source. Images have popped up on line of tie-in toys, which include what appears to be the first photo we’ve seen of the Lizard (which you can see above). The other toy, which is below, seems to confirm a rumour that the film would include a SWAT team of half-man/half-lizrd creatures.

The movie’s out July 4th.

Amazing Spider-man Poster Arrives

December 10, 2011 By Movie Muser Leave a Comment

The first official teaser poster for The Amazing Spider-man has arrived via Superherohype, and while some may think it’s too dark and moody, we reckon it’s all kinds of cool. The tagline of ‘The Untold Story’ is kind of interesting too, as it suggests Sony realises there may be difficulties rebooting a franchise so soon after end of the Sam Raimi series. Early reports suggested the film would essentially be a parallel story to the one Raimi told, although there will definitely be major differenced (not least that Peter Parker is getting mechanical web-slingers rather than organic ones.

The movie stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans and hits cinemas on July 4th, 2012.

Amazing Spider-man Lizard Concept Art Surfaces

December 1, 2011 By Movie Muser Leave a Comment

For quite a long time we’ve known The Lizard would be making an appearance in The Amazing Spider-man, but we haven’t had much clue as to what he’d look like. That’s slightly changed in the last few days after pics emerged of what appears to be a Lizard Pez Dispenser tied into the movie, and now the Russian site, Spidermedia.ru, has managed to get hold of what seems to be concept art of the villain. Assuming it’s corrent, it’s certainly a good mix of man and reptile!

Rhys Ifans is playing Dr. Curt Connor, who turns into The Lizard, and the film hits cinemas July 4th, 2012.
