Another New Gravity Trailer Drops – The extremely long George Clooney & Sandra Bullock shots continue

July 25, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Yesterday, two new trailers for Gravity landed, showing off Alfoso Cuaron’s ambitious decision to make the film using exceedingly long shots. Now another one has arrived, which sees George Clooney and Sandra Bullock hurtling through space and desperately try to grab onto a space station.

The movie sees Clooney and Bullock getting into immense amounts of trouble when their shuttle is hit by debris from a satellite the Russians have been trying to decommission. Bullock is sent flying off into space, with seemingly no way to get back to Earth – especially as their as communication troubles.

It’s out in October. [Read more…]

Amazing Single-Shot Gravity Trailer & Clip Has Sandra Bullock Catapulted Into Space

July 24, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Alfonso Cuaron impressed many with the impressive tracking shots in Children Of Men. With Gravity he’s promised to take that even further. Indeed he expressed a little frustration with the first trailer for the movie, which had quick cuts he felt didn’t really represent the movie.

Now a new trailer and clip have emerged that really show us the amazing single-shot philosophy. The trailer shows the moment when astronauts Sandra Bullock and George Clooney’s spacewalk goes terribly wrong. Their shuttle is hit by debris from a satellite the Russians have been trying to decommission, which sends Bullock flying off into space – and it’s all done with no cuts whatsoever.

The clip meanwhile is from after that moment, when Bullock is drifting through space, completely untethered and apparently with no way home. It certainly suggest this is going to be one to watch when it’s released this October.

Sandra Bullock Floats In First Image From Alfono Cuaron’s Gravity

July 9, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

gravity-preview-pic1
Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity is definitely one of the most intriguing movies of the year, largely as it mainly has just two cast members – Sandra Bullock and George Clooney – will be largely done with extremely long takes and much of the time will be Bullock & Clooney alone in space.

We got the first teaser trailer a few weeks ago, which concentrated on the disaster that strikes as space station, and now USA Today presents the first still image, which sees Sandra having a bit of a float, presumably before everything goes horribly wrong.

Here’s the official synopsis: ‘Academy Award® winners Sandra Bullock (“The Blind Side,” “The Proposal”) and George Clooney (“Up in the Air,” “Syriana”) star in “Gravity,” a heart-pounding thriller that pulls you into the infinite and unforgiving realm of deep space.  The film was directed by Oscar® nominee Alfonso Cuarón (“Children of Men”).

‘Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring.  But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes.  The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left.  But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.’

It’ll be out later this year.

Gravity Teaser Trailer – First look at Sandra Bullock & George Clooney in Alfonso Cuaron’s film

May 10, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Gravity is definitely one of the most intriguing movies of the year, with much of the movie promising to be Sandra Bullock and George trapped alone in space after a disaster cripples the space station they’re working on. Now the first trailer has arrived for Alfonso Cuaron’s movie has arrived, and it’s looking pretty exciting, even if it concentrates on one big moment in the film.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Academy Award® winners Sandra Bullock (“The Blind Side,” “The Proposal”) and George Clooney (“Up in the Air,” “Syriana”) star in “Gravity,” a heart-pounding thriller that pulls you into the infinite and unforgiving realm of deep space.  The film was directed by Oscar® nominee Alfonso Cuarón (“Children of Men”).

First Poster For Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity Has George Clooney In Trouble

May 9, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

gravity-poster1
The first trailer for Gravity is due in the next day or, but before then we get a poster for the movie, which Warner Bros. seems to be hoping will get some Oscar attention later this year – which is relatively rare for a sci-fi movie.

The poster shows George Clooney’s astronaut becoming untethered from his space station when disaster strikes. Sandra Bullock’s Dr. Ryan Stone  gets left alone on the crippled station, and must find a way home against all the odds.

Alfonso Cuaron’s film is due out in October.

Sandra Bullock Ditches The Makeup For Gravity

January 4, 2012 By Movie Muser Leave a Comment

Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity is definitely one of the more intriguing movies of 2012, with rumours the movie largely just has Sandra Bullock on screen for most of the running time and features single takes lasting up to 20 minutes.

The film is currently in post-production and working towards a November release date, but Sandra Bullock, has been talking about the movie with USA Today, and now director Alfonso Cuarón wouldn’t allow his stars to wear any make-up in the space-set thriller.

She says, “God help us all when my face comes rushing at you with no makeup on. I’m going to apologise now, but Alfonso, in a brilliant move, said, ‘No makeup.’ Our vain little heads are going to be some massive 17-foot image [in IMAX]. You are going to see details because it’s shot on this digital film that shows everything. It’s so scary. There are scenes where you say, ‘This is where you have to let go and let God.’ And, thank God, there are no nude scenes.”

It’ll be interesting to see in the first trailer, whether the no makeup rule really affects the look of the movie. Here’s the synopsis: ‘[Sandra] Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky [George Clooney] in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone–tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.

‘The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.’
