Tim Robbins hasn’t directed a cinematic movie since Cradle Will Rock in 1999 (he has helmed the TV movie Possible Side Effects in 2009 and a couple of episodes of Treme), but now he’s planning to go back behind the camers for City of Lies. The project is an adaptation of a short story titled Wenceslas Square, written by Arthur Phillips. Phillip Noyce was previously directing.

The story is about two spies who cross paths and fall in love during two separate missions. Captain America: The First Avenger scribes Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely are adapting the story for the big screen. The short story aired on the radio during a episode of This American Life last summer.

Tim Robbins is best known for his work as an actor, but found much acclaim directing Dead Man Walking in the 90s. (Source: THR)
