New Monsters Univerity Poster Shows Off The College Class

February 27, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Monsters-University-Poster3Disney-Pixar has released the latest poster for Monsters University, which shows off the class of scare students that Mike and Sulley become part of in this prequel to Monsters Inc.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Ever since college-bound Mike Wazowski (voice of Billy Crystal) was a little monster, he has dreamed of becoming a Scarer—and he knows better than anyone that the best scarers come from Monsters University (MU). But during his first semester at MU, Mike’s plans are derailed when he crosses paths with hotshot James P. Sullivan, “Sulley” (voice of John Goodman), a natural-born Scarer. The pair’s out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University’s elite Scare Program. To make matters worse, they realize they will have to work together, along with an odd bunch of misfit monsters, if they ever hope to make things right.

‘Screaming with laughter and oozing with heart, Disney•Pixar’s “Monsters University” is directed by Dan Scanlon (“Cars,” “Mater and the Ghostlight,” “Tracy”), produced by Kori Rae (“Up,” “The Incredibles,” “Monsters, Inc.”) and features music from future Rock-and-Roll-Hall-of-Fame–inductee and award winning composer Randy Newman (“Monsters, Inc.,” “Toy Story 3”). The film opens in UK. cinemas on July 12, 2013, and will be shown in Disney Digital 3D™ in select cinemas.’

Now a slew of new character images and Student I.D. Cards have emerged, which introduce this roster of lively characters. Meet the students and staff of MU, including Scott “Squishy” Squibbles (Pixar director Peter Sohn), Terry and Terri Perry (Dave Foley and Sean Hayes), Art (Charlie Day), Randy Boggs (Steve Buscemi), Don Carlton (Joel Murray), Dean Hardscrabble (Helen Mirren) and Professor Knight (who apparently refused to pose for his poster).

The Pixar movie hits cinemas on June 21st and the UK on July 12th.

Monsters University Trailer – Mike and Sulley become rivals at college

February 13, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Mike and Sulley are back in Monsters University, although a bit younger than they were in Monsters Inc., as the new movie will follow them back in their university days, when they developed a bit of a rivalry – both want to be scarers, but while Mike is serious and studious, Sulley is a bit more freewheeling.

Monsters University TV Spot – Fancy joining Mike & Sully at monster school?

January 2, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A new US TV spot for Monsters University has arrived, giving us a fun intro to the movie, which follows Mike & Sully from Monsters Inc. during their time at college. The spot is put together like a short promo for the University itself, although with more monstrous students than normal colleges.

Here’s the film’s synopsis: ‘Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends. Screaming with laughter and fun, Monsters University stars the vocal talents of Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Dave Foley, Julia Sweeney, Joel Murray and Peter Sohn and is directed by Dan Scanlon and produced by Kori Rae.’

The film reaches UK cinemas on July 21st.

Two Monsters University Posters Land – Mike & Sulley are back!

December 1, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

While some people are still grumbling about the idea of Pixar making sequels, it worked extremely well with Toy Story 2 &3, and to be honest there’s no reason we shouldn’t expect Monsters University to be another delighful trip into the world Mike & Sulley.

It’s also been good news that it’ll be a prequel, ensuring Pixar isn’t just covering old ground with a plot that’s the same as the first movie. Now two preview posters for the film have arrived, via ComingSoon, with the international one above and that US poster below. They’re both good, although I’d say the international one is the best of the two.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. “Monsters University” unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.

‘Screaming with laughter and fun, “Monsters University” is directed by Dan Scanlon (“Cars,” “Mater and the Ghostlight,” “Tracy”) and produced by Kori Rae (“Up,” “The Incredibles,” “Monsters, Inc.”). The film opens in UK cinemas summer, 2013, and will be shown in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.’

The film is currently due for UK release on July 12th, 2013, with a 3D version of Monster’s Inc. arriving January 18th.
