Peanuts has never been quite as big a deal in the UK as the US (hence why it’s called Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie over here, as people know the characters more than Charles Schulz’s comic strip), but there will still be plenty of people interested in seeing Snoopy on the big screen.
Now we can get a fresh taste with a great new trailer.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the beloved “Peanuts” gang make their big-screen debut, like they’ve never been seen before, in state of the art 3D animation. Snoopy, the world’s most lovable beagle – and flying ace – embarks upon his greatest mission as he takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis The Red Baron, while his best pal, Charlie Brown, begins his own epic quest. From the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of the ICE AGE films, SNOOPY AND CHARLIE BROWN: THE PEANUTS MOVIE will prove that every underdog has his day.’

It’s a shame that in the UK, while everyone knows who Snoopy i, we never quite got to grips with the idea that Charles Schulz’s comic strip world is called Peanuts. As a result next year’s CGI movie has to go by the rather verbose title, Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie, while the US just gets ‘Peanuts’.
