New The Amazing Spider-man International Trailer

May 29, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The Amazing Spider-man just looks cooler and cooler. It’s just over a month until it hits cinemas on July 3rd, and personally we can’t wait! Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy, and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors, his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

The Amazing Spider-man Four-Minute ‘Super Preview’

May 15, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

While there were many groans when it was announced they were rebooting Spider-man so soon after Sam Raimi’s take on the character, the more we’ve seen, the cooler it’s looked, with Marc Webb’s film reinserting the wisecracking humour of the character, as well as having a rather cool look, which is partway between comic book and reality. Now a rather exciting four-minute preview has shown up, which gives us a great look at the movie.

Here’s the latest synopsis: ‘The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.’ The film’s out July 4th.

The Amazing Spider-man Featurette – Meet Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors

May 14, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’s not too long until The Amazing Spider-man hits on July 4th, and now a new featurette has arrived that takes a look at Dr. Curt Connors, as played by Rhys Ifans, who becomes the villainous Lizard. Here’s the latest synopsis: ‘One of the world’s most popular characters is back on the big screen as a new chapter in the Spider-Man legacy is revealed in The Amazing Spider-Man™. Focusing on an untold story that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story, the new film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, with Martin Sheen and Sally Field. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay written by James Vanderbilt, based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad, and Matt Tolmach are producing the film in association with Marvel Entertainment for Columbia Pictures, which will open in theatres everywhere in 3D.

New Amazing Spider-man Trailer – Meet The Lizard

May 3, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Sony has been promising it all week and now it’s here, the rather groovy brand new international trailer for The Amazing Spider-man, which gives us out best look at the movie yet, including the villainous Lizard. Earlier today the first official in-movie shots of the character were released (taken from the trailer) and you can see those below.

Here’s the latest synopsis: ‘One of the world’s most popular characters is back on the big screen as a new chapter in the Spider-Man legacy is revealed in The Amazing Spider-Man™. Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman To Write Amazing Spider-man 2

April 25, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Screenwriters Roberto Orci &Alex Kurtzman have signed up for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, rewriting the original script by James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man, Total Recall), according to Deadline.

When you realise Orci & Kurtzman wrote Star Trek and Mission: Impossible III, it sounds good that they’re on for Amazing Spider-man 2, although perhaps their work on the Transformers movies and Cowboys & Aliens should give us some pause.

Here’s what they had to say about joining the sequel, “We grew up as huge Spider-Man fans so, to us, the opportunity to work on this film is akin to being handed the Holy Grail. We love the direction Sony and the filmmakers are taking the Peter Parker/Spider-Man mythology and we couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this legendary franchise.”

Despite The Amazing Spider-man not reaching cinemas until July 4th, Spider-man 2 already has a May 2, 2014 release date set for this sequel, with the shoot already tentatively set for the first quarter of 2013.

New Posters: Wreck-It Ralph & The Amazing Spider-man

April 17, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Disney is certainly taking a bit of a risk with Wreck-It Ralph, although it could turn out to be something very special. It’s tough to know though whether the poster above (revealed via MSN) will attract many average moviegoers, although I’m sure the House Of Mouse will be providing more stuff to entice them in due course, before the film hits US cinemas in November.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Wreck-It Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) longs to be as beloved as his video game’s perfect Good Guy, Fix-It Felix (voice of Jack McBrayer). Problem is, nobody loves a Bad Guy. But they do love heroes… so when a modern, first-person shooter game arrives featuring tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Jane Lynch), Ralph sees it as his ticket to heroism and happiness. He sneaks into the game with a simple plan—win a medal—but soon wrecks everything, and accidentally unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens every game in the arcade. Ralph’s only hope? Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman), a young troublemaking “glitch” from a candy-coated cart racing game who might just be the one to teach Ralph what it means to be a Good Guy. But will he realize he is good enough to become a hero before it’s “Game Over” for the entire arcade?’

Yahoo! has also debuted the final posters for The Amazing Spider-man, which is out July 4th, and you can see them below.

New The Amazing Spider-man International Trailer

April 16, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Although early reports suggested Sony wanted a lower budget Spider-man with their Marc Webb directed reboot, the latest round of trailers certainly suggest it won’t be any less spectacular and also injects some of the humour of Spidey that was lacking from Sam Raimi’s film. In the film, Peter Parker finds a clue that might help him understand why his parents disappeared when he was young. His path puts him on a collision course with Dr. Curt Connors, his father’s former partner, who is also the villainous Lizard. The movie’s out July 4th.

The Amazing Spider-man Viral – Vigilante News Report

March 19, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A new viral vid for The Amazing Spider-man has shown up online, in the form of a Daily Bugle news report, where they interview Capt. George Stacey (Denis Leary) about whether Spidey is a vigilante menace or a hero. Stacey is not a fan, even if unbeknownst to him, his daughter (Emma Stone) is having a bit of a thing with Spider-man alter-ego, Peter Parker. The movie’s out July 4th.

First Amazing Spider-man Clip Surfaces

February 20, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The first clip from the Amazing Spider-man has arrived, via the viral site markofthespider-man.com. If you were hoping for an effects filled fight scene you’ll be disappointed, as it simply features Peter Parker trying to get into Gwen Stacey’s apartment building, but having trouble with a snotty, overly security conscious doorman. Here’s the synopsis: ‘Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) is an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. The Amazing Spider-man International Trailer

February 16, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Anticipation for The Amazing Spider-man jumped considerably when a new, rather spectacular trailer was launched a couple of weeks ago. Now a new international version of that trailer has been released, which features some new footage from the big summer movie. Billed as ‘untold stories’ from Spider-man rather than a remake of Sam Raimi’s movies, Andrew Garfield takes over the web-slinging and goes back to high school. It’ll hit cinemas July 3rd.
