After four episodes exploring the world of Caleb Gallo and his friends, it feels like we’re moving towards a bit of resolution with Episode 5. We’ve had gay hookups and straight hookups, people saying they’re bi because it’s in, long distance relationships, and plenty of people with unresolved entanglements.
Things start to come together when all the friends and acquaintances gather for Caleb’s unexpected wedding, which happens after his boyfriend finds out that he’s going to be deported. Cue lots of craziness and characters who certainly aren’t interested in following predefined stereotypes of gender and sexuality. However, as this is a wedding, someone is going to have to act out and cause trouble.
It does feel like we might have reached an ending, but hopefully there’ll be more Caleb Gallo in the future – and if not, at least make some more episode about the hilarious, genderqueer Freckle.
