I don’t know if it’s the same everywhere, but in British universities the men’s rugby teams often have a bit of a reputation for stripping naked at any given opportunity (although at my uni, the men’s hockey team were worse, in a kind of macho, nudity oneupmanship to prove themselves against the rugby players). I’d be willing to bet it is the same in most places, if only due to the fact that so many rugby teams are stripping naked to make calendars.

Recently we’ve covered the Nashville Grizzlies gay rugby team, the latest Dieux Du Stade, and a great (but not naked) video from the Manchester Spartans gay-inclusive rugby team.

If you ask me, Water Polo is a slightly odd, hybrid sport where I’m not entirely sure why people bother, however The WeHo WaPo (West Hollywood Water Polo) team certainly make a good case for why it’d be a good spectator sport.

The gay-inclusive team posed for a series of stripped down photos for the web blog of The Standard hotel, where they practice, and as you’d hope they look extremely, wearing tiny little speedos and sometimes even less. Peter Bohler took the pic, and you can check out some of them below.

From the images the main rules of Water Polo appear to be attempting to drown both your teammates and the opposition, although I’m sure that in motion it doesn’t look quite so deadly. Oh, and if you’re into wearing very silly little caps, that seems to be popular too. [Read more…]

Ever since it started, the Orthodox Calendar has been keen to push the boundaries with its homoerotic images of priests. However once you’ve got to the edge, it means you’ve got to go further and further each year to have the same effect.

They certainly seem to have managed that with its 2016 edition, which gets extremely steamy with its images of priests caught in all manner of compromising positions – along with kinky images that bring in the anti-LGBT Vladimir Putin and Russian Orthodox Patriarch Kirill.

The 2016 Calendar is titled Sancta Paraphilia, or as Huffpo puts it, “holy desires, or sexual practices that differ from the traditional.”

The Romanian creators of the Calendar say the images demonstrate, “that desires and temptations do not know gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, color, opinion or beliefs, ability, age or any other status and certainly not borders.”

The hope is that the images will act to combat homophobia in the Orthodox Church, with the makers adding, “Art has long been one of the main channels for social change. What we stand for is true love and free will. And that makes us think one day we will find common ground, in a better world.”

As we’ve pointed out before there’s an increasing amount of calendars each year filled with guys stripping down to raise money for charity (and it’s a trend we wholeheartedly endorse). However nearly all of them concentrate on either young, skinny things or people who’ve got more muscles than anyone has a right to.

It’s nice then to get one that features guys who are hot, but don’t all look like they live on protein shakes and gym workouts, and whose have single digit body fat percentages. The calendar features the Nashville Grizzlies Gay Rugby Team, and includes men of various sizes, all of whom take off their clothes to raise cash for the club, which is hosting next year’s gay rugby showcase event, the Bingham Cup.

Thomas Hormby of The Grizzlies told Towleroad: “We were founded in 2006 and are the only gay and inclusive rugby team in Nashville. Our goal is to create a safe space for players of all sexual orientations, backgrounds and experience level to learn about the sport and have fun.”

“This is the first time in several years that we have played straight teams across Tennessee and the rest of the Deep South. We are in the middle of our season and are raising money to help make sure that playing rugby on an affirming team is affordable. We do our best to cover expenses via fundraising so rugby is accessible to everybody, even if they don’t have much money.”

More and more calendars appear each year where sexy men strip down for a calendar, in order to raise money in good causes. However with increasing competition a lot of these calendars are trying to do things to make them stand out, with many also producing some very hot videos to help drum up interest.

A group of incredibly sexy French Firemen have now done just that, with a calendar photographed by Dieux Du Stade’s Fred Goudon, along with a couple of very hot preview vids that you watch below.

The calendar has been put together to benefit Firefighters Without Borders (Pompiers Sans Frontières), a non-profit organisation that is ‘dedicated to assisting fire departments in need of specific skills, training or resources related to fire service.’

Quite frankly, if this is what firehouses are really like, I need to find one and spend some time there – although I’m imagining that in reality there’s far less vaguely homoerotic shirtlessness going on.
