Two Men In Love – The Irrepressibles Music Video

February 16, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Now this is pretty cute. The video for The Irrepressibles new song, Two Men In Love, has arrived, and as the title suggests, it’s about two very sweet young guys who are obviously rather smitten with each other, before it erupts into a series of shots of men kissing.

Oh, and the song’s pretty good too. It’s been described as “a beautiful, intimate confession of the powerful love between two men in the face of a rejecting world.”

The track is taken from the art-popster’s newly released album, Nude. Take a look above. [Read more…]

It’s A Gay Bar, With Dogs – Take a look at the funny new video

February 16, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

According to the blurb accompanying this vid, ‘Eliot Glazer likes a lot of things, one of which is writing and performing comedy sketches. He also likes drawing, which is why so much of his self-proclaimed ‘brain garbage’ begins as a simple drawing, but turns into something much, much weirder.’

As such he’s come up with Eliot’s sketchpad, the latest of which sees footage of some primped and pampered dogs mixed up with a voiceover that put them in a gay bar. Many will be able to recognise the situations in the video, even if they are done with dogs.

It’s a lot of fun, so take a look and have a laugh. [Read more…]

Watch Straight Guys React To Gay Porn

February 15, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Straight guys aren’t normally known for their desire to watch gay porn, but what happens if you show it to them? Davey Wavey – who we recently featured for his video asking gay men what they knew about vaginas – decided to find out what they’d make of, so he got ‘4 Straight Guys + 2 Clips of Explicit Gay Porn…. Well, You Do The Math.’

It’s very funny, and I particularly liked how one guy describes a double penetration as being like too many guys squashed into a small car. There’s also a shock for one of the participants when he discovers one of the guys in the film looks like him.

To be honest we doubt this has tapped unknown desires in any of these men to watch any more gay porn, but it makes for a fun video. [Read more…]

Crush Of The Day: Beautiful Creatures’ Alden Ehrenreich

February 14, 2013 By Tim Isaac 2 Comments

Alden-Ehrenreich-slide
Beautiful Creatures has hit cinemas, introducing 23-year-old Alden Ehrenreich to a far wider audience. For a while it’s seemed like it was going to be ‘when’ rather than ‘if’ Alden hit the big time, and this movie may be his big break.

Ehrenreich was first noticed at 14, when Steven Spielberg saw him in a short film screened at a friend’s bat mitzvah. That led to numerous auditions and Francis Ford Coppola casting him in the lead role in his well received but little seen 2009 movie, Tetro. Since then he’s been in the running for some major roles, including the rebooted Spider-man and Hunger Games, before landing the male lead in Beautiful Creatures.

He’ll also been seen soon in Stoker, alongside Mia Wasikowska, Matthew Goode and Nicole Kidman, while later in the year he’ll pop up in Running Wild and Blue Jasmine.

I thought it was well worth gathering some images together of the cute young man, although he needs more shirtless roles, as he looks like he’s got a bit of cub chest fur going on that we need to see more of! [Read more…]

Quote Of The Day: James Franco Has No Gag Reflex

February 14, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

james-franco-600px
James Franco talks to Details magazine about deep throating two of his character’s pistols during a threeway with two girls in his upcoming film, Spring Breakers.

“Most people can’t get past that gag reflex at the back of the throat,” I say.

“Guess I’m a natural,” he says with a laugh. “It was my first time.”

“So that wasn’t you in Broken Tower?”

“Oh shit, you’re right!” Franco’s eyes light up. “It wasn’t my first time.”

“You’re known for going the extra mile, but that was, what, a good eight inches?”

He gives me a get-real look. “That was a dildo.” Then he turns that look back on himself, and I see the real James Franco: “If I’d had the guts, it woulda been real.”

There aren’t many actors who wistfully wish they’d be brave enough to suck a real dick on camera rather than just deep throating a dildo. But then, that’s James Franco for you.

Crush Of The Day: Live Free Or Die Hard’s Jai Courtney

February 13, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Jai-Courtney2-slide

In the next few days, Jai Courtney’s star is likely to go stratospheric, thanks to the fact he’s playing Bruce Willis’ son in Live Free Or Die Hard (out February 14th). However many will already know him as Varro in Spartacus: Blood & Sand, and some will have caught him recently in the Tom Cruise movie, Jack Reacher.

It’s certainly been a quick rise to international stardom for the 26-year-old, whose credits previous to Spartacus were all in TV shows and films that weren’t seen much outside his native Australia.

He’s a hottie who’s got the look of an action star, both with his handsome face and plentiful muscles. I also have to say I prefer it when he’s got a bit of fur on his chest than when he went for a full-on shaving regimen for Spartacus.

Take a look at the pictures of him below, including a few where he’s engaged in a little nudity. Click on the images to enlarge, and watch the trailer for Live Free Or Die Hard at the bottom. [Read more…]

Quote Of The Day: Daniel Radcliffe On Being Asked About Playing Gay

February 13, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

daniel-radcliffe-out-magazine-cover

“You never see a gay actor getting asked what it’s like to play straight — to my knowledge, at least, there is no difference in how heterosexual and homosexual people fall in love.”

Daniel Radcliffe talks to Out Magazine about the constant questions about playing gay in his upcoming movie, Kill Your Darlings. It’s an interesting article, covering everything from how he looks at his Harry Potter says to how he’d be happy to die on a film set at 80.

We were also pleased that while director John Korkidas’ quote in the article that Radcliffe is “He’s only British from the waist up,” first seemed like an insult to the size of the UK men’s downstairs departments, he’s actually referring to Daniel’s Jewish heritage.

Take A Look At Some Hot Gay Movie Kisses

February 10, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

I found this video over on Youtube (via the F*ckYeayGayFilms Tumblr) and thought it was well worth sharing. It showcases a series of big gay snogging scenes from films as diverse and Touch Of Pink and Maurice to Get Real and Beautiful Thing.

It’s definitely sexy and I’m voting every film from now on includes a scene of guys macking on one another, whether it fits with the plot or not!

Check it out above and revel in the hotness of these kisses.

Have Some Fun With Hailey Rowe’s My Boyfriend Is Gay Music Video

February 8, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

US singer Hailey Rowe has come up with a catchy ditty, all about her boyfriend is gay. It’s a problem quite a few women have faced – many of whom seem to have had a had a string of boyfs whose sexuality hasn’t been a hetero as they’d hoped.

Although the video does slightly trade on stereotypes, but it’s still a lot of fun and Rowe seems pleasantly unfussed about the fact everyone but her knew her boyfriend likes boys more than girls.

Take a look above.

Do Gay People In Films Always Have To Be Stereotypes?

February 7, 2013 By Lewis Shepherd Leave a Comment

Rupert Everett helped bring the bithch gay friend to the mainstream in My Best Friend's Wedding

Rupert Everett helped bring the bitchy gay friend to the mainstream in My Best Friend’s Wedding

In the past I’ve written about a number issues I have when it comes to gay men in films and films that are gay-centric in particular. One of these issues is that they are usually sold on sex, making us all fit into the sexual deviant paradigm that so many people have afforded us, the other issue I’ve written about is why we have to have gay films – after all why can’t they just be films.

This being said, ‘gay films’ are here and for the foreseeable future they are here to stay, because let’s face it, many Hollywood studios are still reluctant to release a mainstream gay-centric film, despite the success of Brokeback mountain almost a decade ago. This then brings up the issue that most of the gay men that we see in films are the flappy, fashion conscience, witty, bitchy character whose retorts and comments are used for comic affect.

These characters can be found in many rom-coms, such as Bridget Jones’ Diary, as well as teen flicks like Mean Girls. We are undoubtedly being put into more films now and being allowed to be openly gay – and all exposure is good exposure in a way, I suppose. Even if the studios are still a little worried to make us the leading star, at least we are there.

However, I can’t get over the fact that many gay-centric films made by LGBT production companies and filmmakers have to use these characters as well. I’ve reviewed and watched a few films recently that heavily feature characters like this. Yes, there are gay people like this, but would it hurt the filmmakers and studios to feature more down-to-earth, non-stereotyped gay characters in a gay movie? After all, we’re bombarded with these stock characters in nearly every romantic comedy that gets churned out.

It looks as though whilst we are getting some representation in mainstream movies, the issue of being stereotyped will always be there. It’s just a shame that gay centric comedy films and rom-coms don’t display enough diversity, to show other gay men and people in Hollywood that we aren’t all like that stock character they know so well. Perhaps if the entertainment made for the gay community were more varied in its depiction of gay people, a little more of that diversity would seep through into the mainstream.
