Two decades after the demise of Rod Serling’s original, groundbreaking and multi-Emmy award-winning television series, audiences were once again transported into the fifth dimension, this time with an unprecedented roster of talent that significantly included some of the greatest sci-fi and fantasy writers of all time.

Broadcast from 1985 to 1989, this new series not only captured the spirit and continued the legacy of the original it also took television drama to a whole new level, particularly with unforgettable episodes such as the shocking William Friedkin-directed “Nightcrawlers”, Wes Craven’s tear-jerker “Her Pilgrim Soul” and Joe Dante’s terrifying “The Shadow Man”, to name a few. Over the past few years, the Boys Of Film series has brought us an excellent selection of short films – you can take a look at what we thought about past releases here – and now it’s back with Boys Of Film 9: Youth In Trouble. The disc is released on April 29th, and we’ve got three copies to give away!

The disc features nine short films – that’s over two hours of entertainment – ranging from a rent boy getting into a very sticky situation in Easy Money, to a young boy dealing with his older brother coming out in Deep End. There’s also the likes of Prora, where a young man reveals his true feelings for his friend, and the award-winning The Wilding, about love inside an Aussie youth detention centre.

Struggling martial artist and dancer Bruno loves his girlfriend Carla, but when he meets fellow dancer Rai, serious sparks begin to fly, opening the couple up to new possibilities. A new generation navigates sexual fluidity, torn affections, and open relationships in this steamy love triangle.

Mixed Kebab hits DVD in the UK on April 29th courtesy of TLA Releasing, and we’ve teamed up with them to offer three copies of the flick to give away to you lucky people!

Happily filled with contradictions, tall, dark and handsome Bram lives a mysterious life in Antwerp that is very different from his conservative, religious upbringing. By day he is the dutiful son and brother, but by night he is a casual drug dealer partying around town and hanging out with the very cute Kevin. Rumours fly around the neighbourhood about Bram’s “inclinations,” so his father lays down the law that his eldest son needs to be a role model for his younger brother Furkant, who’s a hoodlum turned Islamic fundamentalist.

Subsequently Bram flies off to Turkey to meet his future wife (who happens to be his cousin), but not without bringing his newfound friend with him. The platonic friendship with Kevin rapidly turns to a seductive love affair that will shake up everyone’s old-fashioned values! At the centre of Mixed Kebab, director Guy Lee Thys paints a rich picture of how race and class affect a simple thing like love in today’s society and that courage and tolerance ultimately triumph over all.
