Last December we posted the first episode of New Zealand’s first lesbian-themed web series, Pot Luck, which at the time was crowdfunding to get more episodes made. Now a second episode has arrived, so we can catch up with what’s going on with the antipodean girls.
The makers says that, ‘In the tradition of Transparent and Orange Is The New Black, we’re telling the New Zealand story of diversity in an entertaining package that will appeal to a wide audience! One of our local broadcasters, TVNZ on Demand (1million+ subscribers) will be screening it on their online platform, and we’re also negotiating with a number of international platforms (mainstream and LBGTQ) who are very interested, just based on watching the first episode.’
The very brief synopsis for Episode 2 simply says, ‘Debs, Beth and Mel have made a pact… but will everyone be able to keep up their side of the bargain?’ If you need to catch up with Episode 1, click here, or otherwise take a look a the second instalment below. [Read more…]
If you haven’t caught the adventures of Charlie in Flying High, you can click here to watch Season 1, and find out all about the life of a young, gay flight attendant, who find it difficult to escape from his work. It’s a lot of fun and now it’s returned with the first episode of Season 2.
This season of Go-Go Interrupted has already given us quite a few episodes, but it isn’t over yet. Danny finally has his job back at as a go-go boy, but things aren’t quite what he expected when he’s told he has to dance while dressed as a caterpillar.
Even an animated high school isn’t free from discrimination, with Season 2, Episode 2 taking on bathroom issues for transgender issues. Things get tense and it’s time for action when some of the McTucky students get upset about one of their genderqueer classmates using what they consider to be the wrong bathroom.
VENFIELD8, who is perhaps best known for their parody adverts where the theme behind many ads for luxury brands is laid bare (literally) by the inclusion of man bits, is back with a new short film, For Your Gods. You can take a look at it below.
You never quite know much Go-Go Boy Interrupted you’re going to get. While some episodes are around 10 minutes, others are much shorter. For Season 2, Episode 10, we get a nugget-sized 2.5 minutes, but it’s still pretty fun.
zack & luc had plenty of success on the film festival circuit, and now it’s been released on the web, so we can all get a look at this gay-themed short film treat.
There aren’t many queer-themed animated series, but McTucky Fried High has great success with its first season. That’s perhaps surprising considering the premise is a little odd, as it’s about a school where all the students are bits of food, a lot of which are LGBT.
Before many of us knew we were gay (or at least before we were ready to admit it), we dated someone of the opposite gender. While some of those relationships ended before we had to tell them who we truly were, in other cases there had to be a rather awkward conversation.
There’s a new guest star in this episode of Go-Go Boy Interrupted, with the appearance of Scott Evans (who it is obligatory to say in Chris Evans’ gay brother, as well as being a former star of the soap One Life To Live). However, he’s not being a superhero like his bro here, as he is one of the ‘mean gays’, that Danny (Jimmy Fowlie) tries to befriend.
