Stranger By The Lake UK Trailer (NSFW) – New look at the acclaimed gay ‘art-porn noir’

January 17, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Stranger-By-The-Lake-UK-Quad
Stranger By The Lake made major waves at the Cannes Film Festival last year, both for it’s twisting thriller storytelling and the fact it features plenty of ‘art-porn’ style gay sex. The movie arrives in UK cinemas in February, and now distributor Peccadillo Pictures has released a new trailer that gives us a feel for both the movie and the fact it’s not afraid to get sexy – even giving us that rare movie trailer sight, full frontal male nudity!

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Summer time. A cruising spot for gay men, tucked away on the shores of a secluded lake in rural France. Franck falls in love with Michel, an attractive, extremely potent but lethally dangerous man. Franck has witnessed this first hand, but his desire for Michel knows no bounds, this is a relationship he must have – at any cost.’

The film, which should be well worth a look, will arrive in UK cinemas on February 21st 2014. [Read more…]

As in so many movies, a couple of high school boys, Michael and Matty, who make a pact to lose their virginities before prom. However their friendship is tested when Matty reveals he’s actually hoping to pop his cherry with another guy.

A pre-50 Shades Dakota Johnson stars alongside Nicholas Braun, Hunter Cope and Zach Cregger. Braun and Cope are the longtime best friends, with the latter being the one who reveals he’s gay. Their journey includes heading for a foamy gay club and things get a little complicated when Johnson’s character arrives, who is Matty’s ex but also the girl Michael has eyes for. Land of Storms Trailer – Sexual awakenings and a gay love triangle in Hungary

January 14, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

From the first few seconds of this trailer, you’d think everyone in Land Of Storms spends their time hitting and slapping one another. However the rest of the promo reveals a less violent and potentially more interesting LGBT-themed movie.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Land of Storms is about the sexual awakening of Szabolcs, a young man who plays on a German soccer team, as does his roommate, Bernard. After an ugly argument, Szabolcs returns to Hungary where he meets Áron and a mutual attraction between the two boys develops. But when Bernard also shows up, a turbulent love triangle develops.’

Find Out More About The Characters Of The Gay-Themed Series Looking In A New Video

January 11, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

There’s a lot of interest in HBO’s new gay-themed series Looking, which starts in the US on January 19th (and hopefully on Jan 27th in the UK). However while we’ve known it’s about a group of gay friends in San Francisco, who are these people and why should we care about getting to know them?

Now a new vid is hoping to answer that question, with main actors Jonathan Groff, Murray Bartlett and Frankie J. Alvarez, as well as creator Michael Lannan and writer/director Andrew Haigh (who’s best know the gay hit Weekend), talking about the show and the characters.

They certainly do a good job of suggesting this is more than just being a ‘gay show’, with potentially interesting characters going through experiences many of us can relate to. Take a look above. [Read more…]

Seek Trailer – Fresh look at Eric Henry’s LGBT-themed club-fuelled flick

January 11, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A few months ago we featured the teaser for Eric Henry’s gay-themed Seek. Now the movie is gearing up for its world premiere at the Reelout Queer Film and Video Festival on January 30th in Kingston Ontario, Canada, and ahead of that a new trailer has been released, giving us a fresh look at the movie.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The film centers on Evan, a shy, budding young writer who attempts to shake off the torment of lost love while taking an assignment profiling an alluring club promoter who reigns over a world of music, lights, and drag queens. Around him are a group of twenty-something urbanites who all long for the same thing: approval. Whether it’s by someone they find attractive, or by the cities’ in crowd, or by the industry they work in, all strive for the proverbial higher branch, sometimes failing to recognize the fruit that lies within their reach.’

Ryan Fisher and Adrian Shepherd-Gawinski star, alongside Going Down In La La Land’s Matthew Ludwinski. [Read more…]

New Coming Out Trailer – Charlie David produces a series about LGBT life in Montreal

January 7, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Charlie David turned heads as an actor in the gay-themed likes of Dante’s Cove and A Four Letter Word, and has become a big of a queer cinema tour de force, writing Mulligans, directing the documentary I’m A Porn Star and producing Judas Kiss and Truth.

He’s also produced Coming Out, a mini-series which should be coming to DVD in the UK on February 10th from TLA Releasing.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The explosive lives, loves and losses of an intermingled group of Montréalers are explored as they confront the subject of difference. Managing a modern relationship can be a mess. Single? Attached? Married? Divorced? Open? Closed? The most common answer is ‘It’s complicated.’ Get ready to come out with these characters as they negotiate acceptance, prejudice and just how much they’re willing to risk in the pursuit of love and happiness. Mat (Mathieu Blanchard) is a gay fashion photographer with nothing out of his reach until his ex, Ian (Marc-André Poliquin) resurfaces. Meanwhile, Hugo (Patrick Martin) pursues a secret relationship with Olivier (Sébastien Beaulac), a married father who keeps the closet door firmly shut. And finally, Téo (Dhanaé Audet-Beaulieu), is a young man who turns to drugs and prostitution after a messy coming out to his parents. Unaware of how close to home his struggles may come, Caroline (Mélanie Pilon) tries to help Téo get his life back together.’ [Read more…]

In Bloom Trailer – One summer with a Chicago gay couple in the new LGBT movie

January 6, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

TLA Releasing is set to bring out In Bloom later this year and ahead of that they’ve released a trailer for the film, which they’re comparing to the gay hit Weekend.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Reminiscent of “indie” hit WEEKEND, IN BLOOM is the most realistic depiction of a gay relationship to come out in some time. Add the foreboding threat of a killer on the loose, and this incredibly rich and rewarding film becomes unmissable. Kurt and Paul seem very solid and in love, living large in their home city of Chicago, thanks in part to Kurt’s successful pot-dealing business. Everything is going their way. But when a sexy young customer makes a play for Kurt, it sets of a chain of events that not only puts their perfect relationship at risk, but possibly even their lives.’

The film has had decent notices at LGBT film festivals, so it’ll be worth checking out when it comes to DVD and VoD. [Read more…]

Capital Games Trailer – Can you love & hate someone at the same time in the gay-themed movie?

December 31, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

There seems to be a lot of people taking their shirts off in Capital Games, but that’s perhaps not surprising considering it’s based on a gay erotic novel by GA Hauser. The film version debuted at QFest and should be arriving on DVD in the US in February.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Take two ambitious men, one top LA advertising firm, add a competition for the same high ranking job and you have the potential for an explosion. Instantly the competing men detest each other on sight. Handsome, clean-cut Steve Miller quit the LAPD to work in the calm environment of a business office. What he didn’t realize was that the advertising industry was just as cut-throat as the mean streets of the City of Angels. When an exotic British newcomer is hired on, Steve knows this man is out for blood. Mark Richfield, the glamorous new kid in the office, soon wins favor with the big boss and co-workers causing Steve to cringe in jealousy. After a crazy night in the Santa Fe desert when a team building exercise on a business retreat goes wrong, the two men share a night of passion that neither can forget.

‘Wrongly assuming Mark is gay, Steve is devastated to learn that he is planning to be married in a month’s time. Meanwhile, Mark’s life falls into a complete shambles as the wedding machine barrels full steam ahead and he no longer loves his increasingly demanding fiancée. Torn between passionate love and passionate hatred, Steve and Mark endure agonizing decisions that will affect their lives forever.’ [Read more…]

The Adored Trailer – Lesbian desire starts to burn in the psychological thriller

December 31, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Having been a successful model, Maia (Ione Butler) has lost her confidence and as her marriage begins to flounder, she plans to re-launch her career by undertaking a photo shoot by celebrity photographer Francesca Allman (Laura Martin-Simpson), who lives in a remote old house in the Welsh countryside. Maia loves the solitude and accepts an offer to stay the weekend, but Francesca’s obsessive nature threatens to spoil their meeting.

As the photo shoot develops, so does Maia’s trust in Francesca who seduces her. Whilst Francesca’s sexual desires grow with intensity, Maia becomes uneasy with a strange unseen presence in the house. Meanwhile, Adrian (Jake Maskall) talks through his jealous and violent attitude towards his wife with Doctor Woods (Caroline Burns Cook) as he struggles to accept she’s not having an affair. With Francesca becoming more possessive, events take a dangerous turn. Maia is about to discover who adores her the most and to what extremes they will go to possess her.
