A few days ago we reported that Cate Blanchett is in talks to join Sandra Bullock in the planned Ocean’s 11 spin-off, which will revolve around a group of female thieves. Now it seems director Gary Ross is filling out the other central roles, as Showbiz 411 reports that Elizabeth Banks, Helena Bonham Carter & Mindy Kaling are all likely to sign on too.
It’s believed the movie will centre on eight female thieves (the working title is Ocean’s Ocho), so there are a few more roles to cast yet. Rumours suggest Bullock’s character may be Danny Ocean’s sister, but no plot details have been released.
Hunger Games helmer Gary Ross should start shooting the movie either later this year or early next year, with filming believed to be taking place in New York.
