James Duke Mason, the gay son of Belinda Carlisle, is one of those people you look at and just want to hug. He’s cute, talented and intimately involved with gay rights causes. While he doesn’t have a huge amount of acting credits yet, that’s where his heart is, and he’s now teamed up with director Mathew Mishory (Joshua Tree, 1951: A Portrait of James Dean) for Disappear Here.
We first reported on the movie last August when it launched a successful Kickstarter campaign. Now the teaser trailer for the movie has arrived, with James Duke Mason as a young actor who becomes embroiled in “the parallel shadow worlds of Hollywood and high-stake national politics, where emotions and loyalty are mere commodities, and where privacy is an outmoded 20th century notion. This moody, stylish thriller asks who sets the price of a lie worth telling — and who pays? Though staged in the present day, the film will echo classical Hollywood film noir of the 1940s, the color palettes of early 80s album covers, and the music from those albums. Disappear Here weaves a tale of blackmail, sexuality, and personal courage. Part murder mystery, part meditation, it is a moral tale for our time.’
This really is a teaser, as the movie itself hasn’t been shot yet, but this will hopefully ensure there’s enough interest to get it in the can. Major casting announcements are promised soon, with filming getting underway this summer.

Fantastic. Nobody else is making gay-themed films anything like this.
