Quite often the short films we post highlight the negative aspects of LGBT life. While that is vitally important, it’s also nice to sometimes have one that’s just rather sweet. That’s certainly true of The Beginning.
In the film, a father is sorting a boutonniere for his ‘ladykiller’ son, Davis, to wear to prom. However, Davis is pretty nervous because he’s got something to tell his dad – his prom date isn’t a woman, it’s a guy. How does the Dad react? Well, the fact this was made for Hallmark should give you a clue.
The short was written by Steven Tagle and directed by Melanie McGraw to help promote Feeln, Hallmark’s feelgood streaming service (available in the US).
