New Avengers: Age Of Ultron Poster Unites Heroes Old & new

February 24, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

avengers-age-of-ultron-poster2Believe it or not but it’s now less than two months until Avengers: Age Of Ultron on April 23rd 2015 (and a week later in the US). As a result it’s time for the official poster which brings together an awsul lot of heroes, including Hawkeye, Black Widow, Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and newcomers Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.

It looks cool if a little and rather generic, especially with Vision and loads of robots flying around in the background.

Here’s the short synopsis: ‘When Tony Stark jumpstarts a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as they battle to save the planet from destruction at the hands of the villainous Ultron.’

It stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Cobie Smulders, Stellan Skarsgård with James Spader and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

Chris Hemworth Gets All Wet & Sexy In A Water Fight With Jimmy Fallon

January 15, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

chris-hemsworth-jimmy-kimmelIf you’re going to be People’s Sexiest Man Alive, you’d better do some things to show why you earned that title. Chris Hemsworth was certainly on sexy duty during his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, when a fun water fight got ever more extreme, resulting in Chris essentially taking a shower on stage.

And due to the fact he was wearing just a thin, white shirt, it almost turned into a scene from Magic Mike. Indeed you have to wonder whether he went all the way through his wardrobe to find the piece of clothing that would turn most see-through when doused in water.

We’re certainly not complaining, and indeed perhaps Kimmel should make this a regular thing every time someone buff wants to be interviewed. You can take a look at the water fight below (it’s not until towards the end that it gets really moist). [Read more…]

New Avengers: Age Of Ultron Trailer – Thor, Hulk, Iron Man & Co. Up The Action

January 13, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

avengers-age-of-ultron-poster1-slideThe new trailer for Avengers: Age Of Ultron may start out fairly quietly, but by the end of its running time it’s certainly upped the action, with plenty of explosions, fighting and perhaps most excitingly for fans, some hulkbusting.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Marvel Studios presents “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

‘Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision. Written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963. Get set for an action-packed thrill ride when The Avengers return in Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” on April, 2015.’ [Read more…]

New In The Heart of the Sea Trailer – Chris Hemsworth and Ben Whishaw have a whale of a tale

December 22, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

in-the-heart-of-the-sea-pic1Next spring Chris Hemsworth has got two very different battles on his hands, one superhero powered one in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, and another against a huge whale in In The Heart Of The Sea. A new trailer for the latter has now arrived, which you can watch below.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Oscar winner Ron Howard (“A Beautiful Mind”) directs the action adventure “In the Heart of the Sea,” based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s best-selling book about the dramatic true journey of the Essex.

‘In the winter of 1820, the New England whaling ship Essex was assaulted by something no one could believe: a whale of mammoth size and will, and an almost human sense of vengeance. The real-life maritime disaster would inspire Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick. But that told only half the story. “In the Heart of the Sea” reveals the encounter’s harrowing aftermath, as the ship’s surviving crew is pushed to their limits and forced to do the unthinkable to stay alive. Braving storms, starvation, panic and despair, the men will call into question their deepest beliefs, from the value of their lives to the morality of their trade, as their captain searches for direction on the open sea and his first mate still seeks to bring the great whale down.

‘“In the Heart of the Sea” stars Chris Hemsworth (“The Avengers,” “Rush”) as the vessel’s veteran first mate Owen Chase; Benjamin Walker (“Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”) as its inexperienced Captain, George Pollard; Cillian Murphy (“The Dark Knight Rises”) as second mate Matthew Joy; and Ben Whishaw (“Skyfall”) as novelist Herman Melville, whose inquiries into the event 30 years later helped bring the story to light.

‘Tom Holland (“The Impossible”) also stars as young seaman Tom Nickerson, and Brendan Gleeson (“Edge of Tomorrow”) as the same man, 30 years later. Spanish actor Jordi Mollà (“Riddick”) is the captain of another ship, the Archimedes, who tries to warn the Essex of what may lie ahead.’

Thankfully from the trailer it doesn’t look like this film will be as stunningly boring as Herman Melville’s Moby Dick. [Read more…]

Blackhat Trailer – Chris Hemsworth takes on Michael Mann’s thriller

December 15, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Blackhat-posterIn the wake of Sony Pictures dealing with the fallout from the raid on its computer and the subsequent leaking of huge amounts of confidential information, Blackhat feels like a very timely movie for Hollywood. A new trailer has been released so we can get a better feel fro Chris Hemsworth’s trip into cyber attack territory.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Set within the world of global cybercrime, Legendary’s Blackhat follows a furloughed convict and his American and Chinese partners as they hunt a high-level cybercrime network from Chicago to Los Angeles to Hong Kong to Jakarta.

‘Directed and produced by Michael Mann, the film stars Chris Hemsworth, Viola Davis, Tang Wei and Wang Leehom, and it is written by Morgan Davis Foehl and Mann. Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni produce alongside Mann, while Alex Garcia and Eric McLeod serve as the executive producers.’

The film is due out in the UK February 20th, 2015. [Read more…]

Crush Of The Day: Battle Of The Sexiest Men Alive – Chris Hemsworth vs. Chris Pratt

November 19, 2014 By Tim Isaac 2 Comments

chris-pratt-chris-hemsworthThis week seems to be the week when magazines are deciding who is the sexiest man alive. I’m not sure who gave them that job, but they often come up with some interesting results. In the last day or so GQ revealed their men (and one woman) of the year, with covers for Chris Pratt, Dave Chappelle, Ansel Elgort, Michael Sam, Steve Carell and Shailene Woodley. Now People magazine has revealed their sexiest man of the year is Chris Hemworth.

But which Chris is really the best – Pratt or Hemsworth?

It’s a tough choice. Personally I think while I’d like to put Hemsworth on a plinth and admire the prettiness, Pratt is the one I’d prefer to cosy up on the couch with.

Of his honour, Hemsworth says, “[It’s] pretty funny…I think you’ve bought me a couple of weeks of bragging rights around the house. I can just say to [my wife, Spanish model Elsa Pataky], ‘Now remember, this is what the people think, so I don’t need to do the dishes anymore, I don’t need to change nappies. I’m above that. I’ve made it now.'”

We’re assuming the Aussie is joking.

As for Chris Pratt, those hoping the slightly tubbier Chris of Parks And Recreation will return are in for a disappointement (at least if he can stick with the current plan, which is a no-starch and no-booze diet). He tells GQ, “I’m done with that. I just feel like, if I drink, I want to drink a case of beer and not two beers. Two beers doesn’t do anything for me.”

But which of them is really the sexiest? Well take a look at the pics from Pratt’s very hot GQ shoot below, along with a few of the delectable Mr. Hemsworth, then let us know which you prefer in the comments. [Read more…]

Avengers: Age Of Utron Teaser Trailer – Heroes old and new unite

October 23, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

avengers-age-of-ultron-poster1We weren’t meant to get the Avengers: Age Of Utron teaser until next week, but after the trailer leaked Marvel quickly decided that rather than trying to put the genie back in the bottle they’d go with it and release official versions.

It’s certainly a big one, offering a great look at the movie, including new heroes such as Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, along with plenty of creepily robotic bad guys and an Iron Man who looks like tank. It also suggests things won’t go well for everyone, and that even an adamantium shield may not protect you.

And and keep an eye out for this shot:

In the Heart of the Sea Trailer – You should see the size of Chris Hemsworth’s Moby Dick

October 16, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

in-the-heart-of-the-sea-poster1We’ve been waiting quite a while for In The Heart Of The Sea – about the true story that inspired Moby Dick – which shot last autumn but won’t by in UK cinemas until March next year.
