A few weeks ago it was revealed that Martin Scorsese was thinking hard about directing a thriller called The Snowman, based on the book by Jo Nesbo. Now THR reports that Scorses has officially signed on to helm the movie.
The novel is one of nine Nesbo has written about hard-drinking Norwegian detective Harry Hole. In this tale, he has to investigate a series of grisly murders. The scarf of one victim is found on a bizarre snowman, who appears to be staring into her family’s house. Matthew Michael Carnahan (World War Z) is writing the script.
It is said author Jo Nesbo had to sign off on Martin Scorsese directing this adaptation (it’s not like he was going to say no). Nesbo is also not insisting that the movie be filmed in Oslo, Norway, where the novel is set.
