I’m really interested to see a trailer for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, as it’ll give us our first taste of whether it’s a concept that works on the big screen or not. It certainly sounds fun, but could just come across as ridiculous.
Based on Seth Grahame-Smith’s book, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter reimagines the American president as an axe-wielding, highly trained vampire hunter. It gives new context to Lincoln’s rise to the presidency as well as the American Civil War (which was fought because the vampires were in league with the slave owners), suggesting these events were a lot more paranormal than history tells us, and stemmed from Lincoln’s mother’s murder by a vampire when he was a child.
It’s due out in the UK on August 2nd, but for now we’ve got some new images, courtesy of EW. Take a look at them above and below.
