Etan Cohen is one of the most in-demand comedy screenwriters in Hollywood, having worked on the likes of Men in Black III, Tropic Thunder, and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. Now he wants to make the jump intro directing, with THR reporting that he’s inked a deal with Paramount to helm their upcoming horror comedy project, Boy Scouts vs. Zombies.
The film is about a scout troop who must save a group of girl scouts from a pack of zombies, with have designs on spoiling a camping trip. The script was written by writers Carrie Evans and Emi Mochizuki, with Lona Williams writing a new draft for the director.
Horror-comedies are notorious to pull off, but Paramount will be hoping Cohen screenplay experience will help ensure this one works.
