I have a feeling that following the success of 21 Jump Street, a huge amount of buddy cop comedies are going to go into development. Jonah Hill’s old cohort Seth Rogen is already part of the charge, as Variety reports that he’s signed up to star alongside comedian Kevin Hart in a new cop comedy.
Not much is known about the plot, which is based on a pitch by writer Rodney Rothman that Paramount recently picked up. It also seems it’s Rothman who got the actors on-board, as he worked with Seth Rogen on Judd Apatow’s college comedy series Undeclared, and is one of the producers on The Five-Year Engagement, which features Hart.
So how long is it going to take for us all to get sick of buddy cop comedies this time around?
