Sometimes it seems like James Franco should just shag a guy and get over it. He’s virtually made his indie career out of exploring everything homosexual, playing the likes of gay poets Allen Ginsberg and Hart Crane (he also directed the film about the latter) and directing a movie about gay actor Sal Mineo.
We wouldn’t even be surprised if his Wizard in Oz The Great And Powerful turned out to be a friend of Dorothy both literally and figuratively.
He still hasn’t got the homo thang out of his system, as he’s now working on a new film with a bit of a gay bent. Director Travis Mathews revealed the news on his blog, writing “Last week I got an email from James Franco’s agent asking if I’d be interested in collaborating with him on a homo-sex-art-film. A day later we were on the phone and a week later we’re in pre-production! We’ll be shooting at the end of July, Ill be editing in August, and in September it’s going to play in a show in NYC. We’re staying pretty mumsy on the specifics for now, but I can tell you that it’s going to ruffle some feathers. Stay tuned!”
There’s no news therefore on exactly what the film will be. Perhaps James has finally decided to pop his man-cherry and wants Mathews to film! We’ll have to wait and see.
