It seems Wu Tang Clan’s RZA must have enjoyed directing The Man With The Iron Fists, as he’s already got an adaptation of Grant Morrison’s comic Happy! in the works, and now THR reports reports that he has two other flicks in development, one of which is likely to be his next movie.
The first film is pretty ambitious, as it’s a biopic of legendary mongol warrior Genghis Khan, who united various tribes and conquered large swathes of Asia and parts of Europe in the 13th Century. The movie has been a long-developing passion project for writer John Milius. While Milius originally wanted to helm himself with Mickey Rourke starring, he couldn’t get that off the ground, so now RZA is in the director’s chair, with the hope he can get it going.
The other project is No Man’s land, written by Trey Ellis and David Klass, which is about ‘a man who steals a powerful criminal’s diamond that soon proves to be far more valuable than initially thought. With the help of a dancer, he attempts to stay alive and cash in on the jewel. The story takes place during one night and has been described as having echoes of The Warriors.’
No Man’s Land is likely to be RZA’s next movie, although that’s not set in stone yet.
