Normally when we post the first pic of a major actor in a movie, you can see their face, but Frank is not your usual film. Many will recognise the figure in the middle as Chris Sievey’s comedy creation, Frank Sidebottom, but it’s Fassbender in the giant head.
Based on a script by Jon Ronson (The Man Who Stare At Goats), the Frank character is based on the man behind Sidebottom, the late comedian and musician Chris Sievey, as well as cult musical heroes Daniel Johnston and Captain Beefheart.
What’s not clear though is whether the movie will have Fassbender wearing the Sidebottom head all the time or not. We’ll have to wait and see. Perhaps after showing so much of himself in Shame, he’s now afraid to reveal any skin at all!
As you can see from the image, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Domnhall Gleeson co-star.
