Is Sam Raimi Planning To Write Evil Dead 4 This Summer?

With a high-profile remake on the way, many fans of Evil Dead had presumed that meant we’d never get another instalment of Sam Raimi’s original series. However Sam doesn’t seem to think the do-over should stop him from making an Evil Dead 4, as Bleeding Cool reports he may be planning the script for the movie.

While at a press event, The Oz: The Great and Powerful filmmaker said, “I would love to make Evil Dead 4. My brother and I plan to work on the script this summer.”

Presumably the brother is Ivan Raimi, who co-wrote the screenplays for Army Of Darkness, Darkman, and Drag Me to Hell. His other brother, Ted Raimi is better known as an actor, and while he has written a few things, it’s Ivan who’s more of a writer.

Of course, Raimi making a comment at a press event is a long way from the film being a reality. Indeed the director has already been distancing himself from the comments, telling HeyUGuys he was just appeasing fans with his comment, while also hinting that while there’s nothing definite, it’s not impossible.
