Kristen Wiig has only just started shooting Anchorman: The Legend Continues, but it seems she’s keen to stay in the Will Ferrell and Adam McKay business, as she now in talks to reteam with them for the indie comedy Welcome To Me, according to THR.
Ferrell and McKay are producing this one, with McKay’s wife, Shira Piven, in the director’s seat. Eliot Laurence’s (who previously worked on TV’s The Big Gay Sketch Show) screenplay is about a woman with dissociative personality disorder who wins the lottery and decides to spend her winnings on a cable access talk show about her life.
As THR notes, the success of Silver Linings Playbook has sparked an interest in other comedies that can see the lighter notes of mental illness, and probably helped get this one off the ground.
There’s no news on when the movie will shoot.
