Brad Pitt had success in the World War II era with Inglorious Basterds, and now he’s likely to head back to the 1940s as he’s is in final discussions to star in the WWII drama Fury for writer-director David Ayer (End Of Watch), according to Deadline.
The story is set in 1945, centring on a five-man crew of an American tank dubbed Fury, who battle a desperate and defeated group of Nazi soldiers. No details have been given regarding Brad Pitt’s character.
David Ayer commented, “What these men went through is worthy of a complex, honest portrayal. This will have incredible, visceral action and complex rich characters. I plan to bring tank combat to life in a way that lands with a modern audience.”
Shooting is planned for sometime this autumn.
