Iain De Caestecker is certainly doing well for himself, jumping from UK TV in the likes of The Fades to America with the upcoming Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD. Now he’s found the time to fit in the male lead in Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut, How to Catch a Monster.
Gosling has been after the young Brit for quite a while, but it took a while to sort out timings, due to the fact he has to fit it around his SHIELD commitments, which is currently getting episodes in the can before it’s early autumn TV debut.
Variety reports that How to Catch a Monster is ‘set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city and centered on a single mother of two who is swept into a macabre fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.’ Christina Hendricks is set to play the mother, with De Caestecker as her son. Matt Smith, Saoirse Ronan, Ben Mendelsohn, Barbara Steele and Eva Mendes also star.
The film has already started shooting.
