The Hunger Games: Catching Fire may not be in cinemas until November, but the producers are already thinking about casting for the final two films, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and 2. THR reports that Julianne Moore is in early talks to play Alma Coin, one of the few new major roles in the movies.
Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss Everdeen), Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark), and Liam Hemsworth (Gale Hawthorne) are set to star, along with Philip Seymour Hoffman, who will make his debut in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire as Plutarch Heavensbee. In Suzanne Collins’ novel, Alma Coin is in charge of the district which fights against the Capitol regime, although she doesn’t completely trust Katniss, and may want to control her just a much as the opposition so.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire director Francis Lawrence is on board to direct both The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, from an adapted screenplay by Danny Strong. It isn’t known when production will begin.
