With R.I.P.D. due out in a couple of months, it seems that Hollywood is keen for other acronym titled supernatural shenanigans, as the animated B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations is currently pulling together its voice cast. Melissa McCarthy is the latest to sign up, joining the previously cast Seth Rogen, according to Deadline.
McCarthy will play Watts in DreamWorks Animation’s movie, which follows a top-secret government agency that is dedicated to protecting humans from evil ghosts that try to cause trouble for their supernatural overlord. Just as in R.I.P.D., the agents are ghosts, but good ones.
Watts is be the oddball partner of Seth Rogen’s Jackson Moss. Both of them are new to the agency, but stumble onto a plot being schemed by the most wanted Haunter, which could bring about the destruction of B.O.O.
Anthony Leondis is directing, based on his own idea. Puss in Boots’ Tom Wheeler wrote the screenplay.
