A team of Broadway stars have teamed up to create their own protest to Russia’s anti-gay law, and being theatre folk, they decided the best way was with a fun musical parody. In the piece, Russia wants to shut down all theatre for being just that little bit too gay.
The fictional musical ‘Love And Punishment’ certainly has a powerhouse cast, including Michael Urie, Andrew Rannells, Jonathan Groff, Jeremy Jordan, Stephanie J. Block, Joanna Gleason, Jackie Hoffman Laura Benanti and Roger Rees. It’s a show about same sex love behind the Iron Curtain, which doesn’t go down well with the Russian authorities.
It’s also a lot of fun, so take a look above.
