The poster above is ample confirmation that 300: Rise Of An Empire is not going to be a happy little movie where everyone is nice to one another. Nope, as in the first movie, we can expect plenty of stylised ancient Greek violence.
Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel Xerxes, 300: Rise Of An Empire stars Sullivan Stapleton (“Animal Kingdom”), Eva Green (“Casino Royale”), Lena Headey (“Game of Thrones”), Callan Mulvey (“Zero Dark Thirty”), Jack O’Connell (“Skins”), Rodrigo Santoro (“Love Actually”) and is directed by Noam Murro.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘The epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.
‘“300: Rise of an Empire” pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.’
