The voice cast of the R-rated animated comedy has grown, with Deadline reporting that Salma Hayek has signed up for the film, which is based on an idea by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Jonah Hill.
Rogen and Hill will also lend their voices to the film, alongside James Franco, Edward Norton, Michael Cera, Nick Kroll, David Krumholtz and Kristen Wiig.
The slightly nutty sounding film is about a sausage who falls out of his shopping cart, sending him on a journey with other lost food items as they try to get back to their aisles in the supermarket before the dreaded 4th of July sale. Hayek with play Teresa the Taco.
Conrad Vernon (Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted) and Greg Tiernan are directing from a script by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shafir. It’s described as ‘very R-rated’ and should be in cinemas in 2015.
