A couple of weeks ago we posted that Eating Out filmmaker Q. Allan Brocka had signed up to direct upcoming episodes of the web series People You Know, which plans to shoot seven more episodes this summer, which will complete Season 1.
Since then it’s been revealed that Season 1, Part 1 has been so popular that it’s secured an airing on the LGBT US TV network HereTV.
However to get Season 1 completed the makers need some cash, and so they’ve launched a KickStarter campaign hoping to raise a cool $75,000.
If they get enough money they promise that ‘The series will ramp up the drama as the Saints and Sinners learn hard truths about love, friendship and life in the Big Apple.’
People You Know chronicles the lives of a group of gay friends, mostly coupled up, who work and play together in New York City.
“Kickstarter is a great resource for independent and original content. Since we were so successful in our last campaign, we are using that platform again,” People you Know co-creator John Dylan DeLaTorre says. “Creators can reach and cultivate an audience that is just as passionate about the characters and narrative as we are. We have been lucky to connect with the viewers in a way that is truly remarkable. We’ve heard from the fans and know they want to see more. We are very excited to continue telling our story.”
You can find out more about the show on its website, and head over to the KickStarter here.
