After the massive success of The LEGO Movie, Warner Bros. didn’t just put a sequel in the works, but also started planning films based on LEGO Batman and Ninjago. The first of those to arrive is The LEGO Batman Movie, which has just released a trailer to coincide with Comic-Con. It certainly looks like it’ll keep the fun tone of The LEGO Movie.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.’
What that doesn’t mention is the importance of him accidentally getting a ward, who becomes a rather different Robin than we’re used to. The film will be in cinemas early next year.
