While it looked for a while like Warner Bros. thought they had a flop with King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword and were going to dump the movie in a graveyard slot, they seem to have warmed to the movie. It’s now getting a prime May release date, and the hype is growing with the release of a new trailer.
Charlie Hunnam, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou, Aidan Gillen, Jude Law and Eric Bana star in the movie, which will follow the King in ‘an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne. When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.”
The movie is set for release in May. The movie was originally set to be the start of a whole Knights Of The Roundtable franchise, with each movie focussing on a different knight. At the moment that’s been put on the backburner, but expect it to be resurrected if Legend Of The Sword is a success.
