New Finding Dory Trailer – Ellen Degeneres’ forgetful fish is looking for her parents

May 24, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

finding-dory-slideIt’s not too long now until we get to return to the underwater world of Nemo and Marlin, 13 years after Pixar first took us under the waves. Now a new trailer for Finding Nemo has arrived, which you can take a look at below.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Disney•Pixar’s “Finding Dory” reunites everyone’s favourite forgetful blue tang, Dory, with her friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about her past. What can she remember? Who are her parents? And where did she learn to speak Whale?’

It certainly looks like it might recapture the magic that made Finding Nemo the highest grossing animated film ever at the time of its release. The movie will be in cinemas this summer. [Read more…]

Johnathon Schaech Talks About His Time As Ellen Degeneres’ Beard

April 5, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

johnathon-schaechNowadays Ellen DeGeneres is a much loved comedian, talk show host and actress, and may well be the most famous lesbian in the world. But when she was first finding fame she hadn’t come out, and now actor Johnathon Schaech has confirmed that for a time he acted as her beard – however, it has to be said the way he talks about it is surprisingly gallant.

When asked on Reddit about being seen with Ellen in the 90s, he said “My manager asked me to accompany her to events. She was scared people would not watch the show, her sitcom Ellen, because she was gay. It was an honor … She’s a great example for the human race.”

He also spoke about his thoughts about LGBT people, “I grew up with two gay aunts and a gay uncle. My aunt died of cancer. She was a proud woman and she didn’t get proper care because she didn’t want to be away from her partner. Hospitals didn’t allow partners the same rights as a spouse. When you have someone you love in your life that is gay or a lesbian it’s very clear that they deserve the same rights as anyone else. It’s not about religion. If you don’t love ELLEN now – you don’t watch her show. She’s a great example for the human race.”

When asked to confirm whether he was essentially her beard, Schaech says, “She wasn’t out…I was supposed to perform in her coming out episode but I ran the marathon and couldn’t walk the next day, the network fired me cause they thought I was lame. I was lame, DONT RUN A MARATHON when you’re given a great gift.”

Schaech is best known for the likes of That Thing Yo Do, Quarantine, and How to Make An American Quilt, and is about to make some new fans when he pops up as Jonah Hex in DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow.

It’s All A Bit Where’s Wally In A Quartet Of Posters For Pixar’s Finding Dory

February 9, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

finding-dory-poster1-slideSomeone in the Disney/Pixar marketing department has decided to take the title ‘Finding Dory’ very literally, with four new posters invite us to look for the Blue Tang, who’s hidden somewhere in the ocean. However, it’s certainly a good way of showing us that this will be new but still taking us to a familiar Finding Nemo world.

Here’s the short synopsis: ‘Disney•Pixar’s “Finding Dory” reunites everyone’s favorite forgetful blue tang, Dory, with her friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about her past. What can she remember? Who are her parents? And where did she learn to speak Whale?’

The movie will in in cinemas this summer. You can take a look at the teaser trailer by clicking here, and have a gander at the new poster below.

First Finding Dory Poster Arrives, With A Trailer Promised For Tomorrow

November 9, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Finding-Dory-posterPixar have certainly given up on their old maxim not to many make sequels, but so far that’s only been a good thing. It also means we’re going to get to return to the ocean for Finding Dory, which has just released its first poster, with a trailer promised for tomorrow.

Ellen DeGeneres and Albert Brooks reprise the roles of Dory and Marlin, with the plot following Dory after she has a vague memory that she can’t quite work out, but realises that her parents don’t know who she is. As a result she sets off to find the Monterey Marine Life Institute, taking Nemo and Marlin with her.

The movie will arrive in cinemas next summer.

Take A Look At Taylor Kitsch’s Shirtless Career Courtesy Of Ellen

May 26, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Q9q7iCtjWo

You might not expect a lesbian to have a fascination with the male torso, but Ellen Degeneres (or at least the producers of her chat show) certainly seems to. She’s certainly not averse to showing off buff man meat on her show.

Now she’s decided that with Taylor Kitsch coming on her show, it was a good opportunity to pay homage to the fact he’s spent almost as much time on screen with his shirt off as with it on. Indeed John Carter almost seemed like $200 million worth of special effects all spent to show his abs off to better effect.

There’s no doubt that the less he wears the better the Battleship and Normal Heart star looks. And if you need any more proof. Check out this page. [Read more…]

Ellen Degeneres Says She Felt ‘Hurt’ & ‘Isolated’ By Some Reactions To Her Coming Out

February 21, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

ellen-degeneresEllen Denegeres is now one of the most popular celebrities in America, but when she came out as a lesbian 1997 she was stepping into the unknown. At the time she had a popular sitcom, but there were few out celebs and as she has revealed to People magazine, dealing with some of the reactions to her news was difficult.

She says, “I didn’t think it was going to be that much of a surprise. What hurt was this: Does that label, that word, change my talent, my kindness, my heart, my intention for entertaining people? The bottom line is as simple as this, my feelings were hurt. I just gave up and moved to Ojai [California] and sat in my house as long as I could until I ran out of money. Then I started over again.”

It been said that Ellen and her character on her show coming out was the beginning of the end of that sitcom, with America not ready for a primetime show led by an LGBT character (although it wasn’t too long afterwards that Will & Grace started). For a while DeGeneres found it difficult to get work, but has since become a bit of a national institution and this year will host the Oscars.

In the interview she adds, “Looking back, I did feel isolated, I did feel rejected, but now I look at it as a movie that I saw that someone went through. I only experience the amazing life that I have right now… I’m so blessed in many ways, but I’m not always funny. I’m not always happy. I’m a human being, I don’t want to be expected to be funny all the time. It’s not real. I’m constantly learning and growing and trying to be better.”

Ellen Degeneres Dances Her Way Through Her First Oscars Trailer

December 21, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Many were very pleased when it was announced that Ellen Degeneres had agreed to host next year’s Oscars. Now she’s offering up her first promo for the event, where she gets suited up, enlists a legion of dancers and says, ‘Here we go!’. The promo was conceived and directed by The Heat helmer Paul Feig.

I’m not entirely sure what it has to do with giving out awards for film achievement, but it’s pretty cool and sets a good tone for an event that will hopefully allow her to show off her mix of humour and congeniality to the fullest.

The Oscars will be handed out on March 2nd, 2014. [Read more…]

Ty Burrell & Diane Keaton Join Ellen Degeneres In Finding Dory

August 10, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

finding-dory-concept-art1We already knew that Ellen DeGeneres was coming back for the Finding Nemo sequel, Finding Dory, but now she’s got some company, as at D23, Disney has revealed that Albert Brooks will also be back as the voice of Marlin.

Diane Keaton is also onboard as the voice of Dory’s mom Jenny, Eugene Levy is Dory’s dad Charlie, and Modern Family star Ty Burrell will be Bailey. It certainly seems it’ll be a bit of a family affair for Dory.

Not much has been released about the actual plot, although it has been revealed that they’re currently altering the ending in the wake of controversy over the treatment of killer whales at aquatic parks the has erupted sinxe the release of the documentary Blackfish. The ending will still apparently take place at a park, but it’ll be a place where the creatures have the choice to leave.

The film is currently due out November 25th, 2015. Take a look at a new concept art pic above.
