First Pics Of Wentworth Miller As Captain Cold In The Flash Released

October 11, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

wentworth-miller-flash-pic1A couple of months ago it was announced that out actor Wentworth Miller would be turning villainous as Captain Cold in TV’s new hit series The Flash. Now the first images of the actor in the show has been released.

Miller is playing Leonard Snart, who invents a powerful ray gun that freezes his enemies. Captain Cold will be a recurring character, which raises the possibility that as in the comics he will put together a group of bad guys known as The Rogues. That’s particularly likely as the title of the first episode Miller appears in is called ‘Going Rogue’ (it’s the fourth episode in case you were wondering).

There’s also going to be a bit of a Prison Break reunion, as the 10th episode features both Captain Cold and his villainous colleague, Heat Wave, who will be played by Dominic Purcell.

Take a look at the pics above and below, along with a Flash trailer featuring Wentworth. [Read more…]

Ice Bucket Challenge Redux: Chris Hemsworth, Vin Diesel, Tom Hiddleston, James Franco & Grant Gustin

August 19, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

tom-hiddleston-ice-bucket-challengeIt seems celebs can’t get enough of doing the Ice Bucket Challenge. Just yesterday we posted the likes of Chris Pratt, Stephen Amell, Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello getting drenched for charity, and since then they’ve been joined by plenty more.

As a result you can see Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Vin Diesel, The Flash’s Grant Gustin and a pant-free James Franco have a bucket of ice water chucked over their heads. Diesel in particular has an impressive list of people he’s calling on to take the challenge next.

I’m also a fan of Tom Hiddleston in a wet white t-shirt.

They’re not doing it solely to jump on a bandwagon, as those taking part and also raising funds and awareness for ALS (commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease in the US and motor neurone disease in the UK).

Take a look at the new Ice Bucket celebs below. [Read more…]

The Flash TV Series Gets A Poster Featuring Grant Gustin

May 10, 2014 By Tim Isaac 2 Comments

flash-poster1It was more or less a formality that after introducing the character in Arrow and a year of planning, The Flash would get a series order by The CW in the US.

That’s now happened and in its wake comes the first poster, featuring Grant Gustin in costume.

Gustin popped up as Barry Allen in a couple of early episodes of the current season of Arrow, but he won’t don the famed red costume in the pilot of The Flash, which is due to start airing this Autumn. He may have already had the accident that gave him powers in Arrow, but he apparently won’t get superheroic until he has his own series.

Before now Gustin was best known as Glee’s Sebastian, who tried to steal Blane from Kurt.

First Full Costume Pic Of Grant Gustin As The Flash Is Released

March 11, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

flash-grant-gustin2
A couple of weeks ago we got our first look at Grant Gustin as The Flash, but that was only a headshot of the actor wearing the mask. Now a new image has arrived, letting us see him from head to foot for the first time, along with a bit of lightning.

Interestingly both shots have a more straightforward comic book look than the slightly darker (and shirtless) initial Arrow promo pics, from which The Flash will spin-off.

Gustin will pop up as Barry Allen in a couple more episodes of the current season of Arrow, before donning the famed red costume in the pilot of The Flash, which is due to start airing this Autumn. He may have already had the accident that gave him powers in Arrow, but he apparently won’t get superheroic until he has his own series.

Glee’s Grant Gustin To Play The Flash In Arrow & His Own Spin-Off Series

September 14, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

grant-gustinSome of you may remember Grant Gustin as Glee’s Sebastian, who tried to steal Blane from Kurt. He’s also popped up on 90210 and the TV movie A Mother’s Nightmare. Now he may be getting his own series, as TheWrap reports that he’s been cast as The Flash in Arrow.

The plan is that the DC Comics character will appear in three episode of Season 2 of Arrow. He’ll be introduced in episodes 8 and 9, before returning in episode 20, which will also act as a backdoor pilot for a standalone Flash series, which is currently planned to start airing in 2014.

Gustin’s character will be called Barry, who is a Central City assistant police forensic investigator who comes to Starling City to look into a series of unexplained robberies. ‘A comic book fan boy, who is obsessed with Arrow (Stephen Amell) unaware that working with Oliver and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) to solve the crime has brought him right into the dangerous world of the vigilante.’

As with Arrow, the idea is to try to base things at least tangentially in reality. However, it hasn’t been revealed how this will fit with the fact Flash is best known for his ‘super-speed’, which suggests Barry is going to have to get at least some superpowers. The character will initially be a normal person, who will transition into The Flash over the course of his Arrow episodes.

Stephen Amell commented on Twitter ‘Hey @grantgust… You should probably start stretching your hamstrings like… immediately. Congratulations!! #Flash’.

Co-star Colton Haynes added, ‘#Arrowseason2 has found it’s Flash! Congrats @GrantGust , welcome aboard bud!’
