Jackie Chan & Other Celebs Come Out For Equality In Brett Ratner Directed PSAs

April 19, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Brett Ratner has to step down from producing the Oscars after using the word ‘fag’ during a Q&A. Since then he’s been busy ‘rehabilitating’ himself, which has included teaming up with GLAAD to create a series of PSAs that feature various celebrities coming out of the closet as allies for equality.

Videos featuring the likes of Jackie Chan, Jason Alexander, NCIS’ Pauley Perrette, Hart Of Dixie’s Jaime King, and 3rd Rock’s Kristen Johnson, have been released, featuring the celebs in and around a literal closet.

You can take a look at some of the vids above and below.

GLAAD has revealed that, “Comcast and NBCUniversal will serve as a leading media partner for the PSA campaign, contributing $1.5 million in national airtime on its Xfinity TV cable systems and bringing this important message to more than 20 million homes over the next year.”

Jaime King And Jamie Chung On For Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

October 30, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

When Sin City was released in 2005, we were initially told two sequels were incoming and they’d both arrive within a couple of years. However its only now in 2012 that cameras are finally starting to roll on a second movie, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.

With filming starting on Monday, THR also got news that Jaime King will be back in the Sin City world, while Jamie Chung has also joined the cast. King will play Wendy, twin sister of the prostitute Goldie she portrayed in the original. Chung meanwhile will take over from Devon Aoki as the sword-wielding Miho.

Mickey Rourke (Marv), Jessica Alba (Nancy), and Rosario Dawson (Gail) will all reprise their roles from Sin City. However there are apparently still many major roles left to be cast (as it’s all green screen, things can be shot separately, meaning it’s not as important all the cast is there when shooting starts), including Dwight, who was originally played by Clive Owen. Some have suggested the actor is returning, although Dwight undergoes facial reconstructive surgery in this story, and will look like a completely different man. Also yet to be cast is the gambler Johnny, and Ava, originally written for Angelina Jolie.

Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller are directing from a screenplay they co-wrote with William Monahan. A US release date of October 4th, 2013 has already been set.

Hart Of Dixie – Season 1 (DVD)

October 5, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Rachel Bilson, Scott Porter, Jaime King, Cress Williams, Wilson Bethel
Director: Various
Running Time: 920 mins
Certificate: 15
Release Date: October 8th 2012

Most American TV is focussed on the urban middle-classes in major metropolitan areas, but every so often they remember that dotted in between the big cities are tens of thousands of smaller settlements, and that maybe they’d like something aimed at them (and so might city sophisticates who like the idea of small town charm). That’s where Hart Of Dixie fits on the spectrum, a show you’d be forgiven for never having heard of, as in the UK its first series was tucked away on the TV channel Really.

Now it’s coming to DVD, so you can catch up if it sounds like the sort of thing you’d like. If you’re a fan of Gilmore Girls, for example (the tone of which Hart Of Dixie often seems to borrow from liberally), this should be right up your street. [Read more…]
