July 18, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The run up to Comic-Con continues apace with a new video giving us our first look at footage of Jamie Foxx as the villainous Electro in The Amazing Spider-man 2, letting us know that ‘Electro Arrives’ in the convention’s Hall H on Friday.

Here’s the film’s synopsis: ‘In ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2,’ for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough.

‘Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.’

New Amazing Spider-man 2 Pics Reveal More Of Electro & Rhino

July 12, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

amazing-spider-man-2-preview-pic1
Yesterday we got our first official look at Amazing Spider-man 2 villain Electro with the new cover of EW, and now a load more images have been released from inside the mag’s Comic-Con 2013 preview issue.

They give us a better look at the creepy Electro, as well as Paul Giamatti’s Rhino’s, along with Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker, Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy.

It’s all looking pretty cool as Spider deals with his rising public profile as well as his promise to Gwen’s father to stay away from her – a promise he can’t keep – although hints at where the film series is going suggest that he ought to.

The Amazing Spider-man 2 hits cinemas May 2nd 2014. Click on the pics below for larger versions.

First Official Look At Amazing Spider-man 2’s Electro

July 11, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

amazing-spider-man-2-ew-cover
A couple of months ago we posted a few set photos, giving us a look at Jamie Foxx’s blue Electro, but it’s only now we get out first official look, with Electro facing off against Spider-man on the cover on Entertainment Weekly.

He’s not exactly pretty, but he does look rather cool.

Here’s the film’s synopsis: ‘In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.’

It’s due in cinemas May 2014.

Leonardo DiCaprio & Jamie Foxx Up For Mean Business

June 28, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

django-unchained-pic3Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx recently teamed up for Django Unchained, but they must have liked working together, as Deadline reports that they’re getting back together for Mean Business On North Ganson Street. Warner Bros. has picked up the rights to S. Craig Zahler’s upcoming novel of the same name for the actors to star in.

DiCaprio is set to play ‘a hardened detective who, after being told by a man that his beautiful wife is missing, tells him she is a hooker who obviously made off with his money. After the man commits a desperate tragic act right in the squad room, the disgraced detective is sent to a hellhole rust belt town called Victory, Missouri, where violent crime is skyrocketing.

Partnered with an equally bad-assed detective who was demoted for publicly brutalizing a suspect (Foxx), the new partners get to do some real work. Police officers start showing up dead execution-style, and the cops think it might be open season on Victory’s police department.’

Is it safe to assume Foxx will be the one killing the cops, or is he just suspect number 1?

It’s early day yet as no writer or director is currently set, so don’t expect to see this for a while yet.

(I Wanna) Channing All Over Your Tatum – Jimmy Kimmel offers up a star-studded parody

June 19, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Jimmy Kimmel Live is renowned for its parodies full of stars, and their latest is all about wanting to Channing all over your Tatum. I’ll leave it up to you imagination as to exactly what that means, but I’ve pretty sure it’s dirty – and the number of things spurting in this video suggests I’m right.

The vid features Jimmy Kimmetl, Jamie Foxx, Kimmel, Olivia Munn, Gabourey Sidibe, Miley Cyrus and, of course, Channing Tatum himself, who obviously hasn’t decided being a new father should prevent him from being sexy!

Oh, and this being Jimmy Kimmel Live, watch out for a brief appearance by Matt Damon. [Read more…]

Sandra Bullock Circling Annie Remake As Miss Hannigan

June 13, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Sandra-BullockSandra Bullock was offered a role in the planned remake of Annie back in March, but she turned it down. Now she’s had a change of heart and THR reports that is in talks to join the musical, alongside Quvenzhané Wallis and Jamie Foxx.

She would play Miss Hannigan, the unpleasant, scheming woman who runs the orphanage that Annie (Quvenzhané Wallis) lives in before being taken in by Daddy Warbucks (Jamie Foxx). Carol Burnett played Miss Hannigan in the 1982 films version of Annie.

Will Gluck is set to direct the movie from a screenplay that he is currently rewriting. Emma Thompson wrote the original draft, which was rewritten by Aline Brosh McKenna.

White House Down Extended Trailer – Channing Tatum has to save Washington D.C.

June 11, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The idea of White House Down may be that Channing Tatum has to save the President (Jamie Foxx) from terrorists, but as this extended trailer shows, the whole of Washington DC is in trouble. But then, this is Roland Emmerich, who feels it’s a wasted day if he hasn’t destroyed at least a few major world landmarks.

It may have a similar story to Olympus Has Fallen, but it certainly looks like this will be told on a bigger scale, and with four minutes to give us a taste of the film, it looks pretty fun.

The movie hits US cinemas on June 28th and will reach the UK on September 6th. [Read more…]

New White House Down Trailer – Channing Tatum takes on the terrorists

May 3, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Channing Tatum is getting his action movie on this summer in Roland Emmerich’s White House Down. He stars as a secret service agent who’s in the White House when a group of terrorists take over. He’s then tasked with guiding the President (Jamie Foxx) to safety. Maggie Gyllenhaal, James Woods, Jason Clarke, Richard Jenkins, Lance Reddick and Joey King also star.

The new trailer offers more plot than previous promos, and as you’d expect with Emmerich, when the sh*t hits the fan, things get very explosive and no world famous landmark is safe.

The film hits US cinemas this June, but won’t reach the UK until September 6th.

Jamie Foxx May Be Daddy Warbucks in Annie Remake

April 30, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jamie-foxxWhen a remake of Annie was announced, Willow Smith was set to star. She decided to step aside and Beasts Of The Southern Wild star Quvenzhané Wallis stepped into the title role. Now the movie may have found its Daddy Warbucks, as Jamie Foxx is in early talks for the Sony Pictures musical.

With this modern day take changing things a little, Jamie Foxx will play a different version of Daddy Warbucks named Benjamin Stacks, who takes in the young orphan Annie. The project is based on Thomas Meehan’s Broadway stage play. The music will also be updated, with Jay-Z having helped renew the classic tunes.

It isn’t known when filming will begin, although Will Gluck is directing from a screenplay he is currently rewriting, based on an original draft by Emma Thompson and Aline Brosh McKenna.
