Pompeii (DVD Review)

September 14, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Kit Harington, Emily Browning, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kiefer Sutherland, Jared Harris
Director: Paul W.S. Anderson
Running Time: 100 mins
Certificate: 12
Release Date: September 15th 2014 (UK)

Kiefer Sutherland Heading For Pompeii, Playing The Villain

March 21, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

kiefer-sutherlandThe cast for Paul WS Anderson’s Pompeii is coming together fast, with Kit Harington, Emily Browning and Jared Harris added in the past couple of weeks. Now THR reports that Kiefer Sutherland is in final negotiations to portray the villain in the movie.

The movie is set in 79 A.D., with Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) as Milo, a former slave-turned-gladiator, who must race back to Pompeii to save his true love Flavia (Emily Browning), as well as his best friend, when Vesuvius starts rumbling. Sutherland is set to play a Roman senator who enslaved Milo’s village and forces Flavia’s father (Jared Harris), Milo’s former master, to have his daughter marry the senator.

Paul WS Anderson is directing from a screenplay by Lee Batchler and Janet Scott Batchler, with rewrites by Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes. Shooting on the movie has already begun.
