CBGB Trailer – Alan Rickman leads a great cast in a biopic of the legendary club

August 8, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Director Randall Miller has pulled together a great cast for CBGB, with the likes of Alan Rickman, Rupert Grint, Malin Akerman, Ashley Greene, Kerry Bishé, Johnny Galecki, Donal Logue, Ryan Hurst, Justin Bartha and Bradley Whitford and quite a few more.

The movie is about the famed (and now sadly closed) CBGB punk rock club in New York City, following Hilly Kristal (Alan Rickman), who wants to start a club for country, bluegrass and blues (the CBGB of the club’s name) but found it difficult to get acts, and so ended up allowing the likes of The Ramones and Blondie to play, helping give punk a foothold in America.

Along with Rickman, Ashley Greene plays his daughter, while Joel David Moore, Julian Acosta and Steven Schub are three of the Ramones; Malin Akerman is Debbie Harry; Mickey Sumner is Patti Smith; Rupert Grint will be Dead Boys guitarist Cheetah Chrome; and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins is Iggy Pop. The film should be out later this year. [Read more…]
