It’s been revealed that Jack Black and James Marsden are teaming up for a new indie comedy, as THR reports that they’ve both signed up to star in fun sounding The D-Train.
The movie follows Jack Black’s character, who’s the chairman of a high school reunion committee chairman. He hopes that throwing a stellar bash will help with the acceptance he’s been craving and perhaps make those he went to school with think differently of him. He heads off to Los Angeles in order to try and convince his most popular classmate (Marsden), to attend their 20 year reunion. That popular guy is now a failed actor who’s working in commercials.
Mike White, who wrote the screenplay, is also set to star as the man who was Jack Black’s character’s only friend in high school. Nat Faxon is in negotiations to join the cast, but it isn’t known who he will play.
It’s a bit of a reunion for Jack Black and Mike White, as the actor has previously starred in the White written Orange County, School of Rock and Nacho Libre. Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel are set to make their directorial debuts with The D-Train. It’s not clear when it will shoot.
