Unfortunately Rutger Hauer is not enough. Back in 2011 he starred in the Dutch movie The Heineken Kidnapping, but now the same true story is getting an English-language makeover and Rutger has been replaced by Anthony Hopkins.
Kidnapping Mr. Heineken tells the tale of Freddy Heineken, lager magnate and a man not short of spare change. In 1983 he was abducted and held in a grotty cell for 21 days before his kidnapper’s ransom demands were met – the biggest ransom ever for a single person. Upon being released, a traumatised Heineken used his unlimited wealth to help the police track down his abductors and bring them to justice.
Sam Worthington, Jim Sturgess, Ryan Kwanten, Mark van Eeuwen and Thomas Cocquerel also star as those who hatch the kidnapping plot. Daniel Alfredson (who helmed two of the original Millennium Trilogy films) directs.
