BGPS’s Advent Calendar Of Buff Blokes: Day 18 – Tom Hardy

December 18, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Tom Hardy has fast become a favourite both of Hollywood and admirers of hunky men and in putting this Advent Calendar gallery together I have to say I was spoilt for choice, as he has little difficulty looking good and doesn’t seem that bothered whether he’s wearing clothes or not.

Having made his screen debut in Band Of Brothers back in 2001, Hardy took roles in the likes of Black Hawk Down, Marie Antoinette and Layer Cake before really getting the attention of Hollywood in 2007 playing the title role in Bronson and playing gay as Handsome Bob in Guy Ritchie’s RocknRolla. Since then his career’s gone stratospheric with Inception, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Warrior, and he’s likely to get onto the a-list proper in 2012 with This Mean War and most prominently playing the villainous Bane in the much anticipated The Dark Knight Rises.

But why we should love him most is how open he’s been in interviews, admitting to past gay liasons, and treating it in a wonderfully blase fashion. In an interview a while back with Now Magazine, he told them “As a boy? Of course I have. I’m an actor for f**k’s sake.

“I’m an artist. I’ve played with everything and everyone. But I’m not into men sexually. I love the form and the physicality, but the gay sex bit does nothing for me… To me it just doesn’t compute now that I’m into my thirties and it doesn’t do it for me. I’m done experimenting.

“There’s plenty of other stuff in a relationship with another man, especially gay men, that I need in my life. A lot of gay men get my thing for shoes. I don’t think I’m metrosexual but I’m definitely my mother’s son. I have definite feminine qualities and a lot of gay men are incredibly masculine.”

However if you’re hoping to turn him back, he’s got a girlfriend, so you’ll have to just wait and pray he changes his mind one day.

Tom’s also incredibly active in charity work, helping disadvataged youths. In fact, he may just be the perfect man. Click on the pics below and enjoy the often half-clothed wonderment that is Tom Hardy. [Read more…]

New Dark Knight Rises Poster Hits

December 11, 2011 By Movie Muser Leave a Comment

The much vaunted prologue to The Dark Knight Rises will be playing in IMAX cinemas ahead of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, and to prepare for that, a new poster for the movie has been released. If the image is anything to go by, things aren’t going to go well for Batman in this installment, with Bane (Tom Hardy) posing a serious threat as the movie’s main big bad.

There’s definitely a note of finality about the film, with Christopher Nolan seemingly keen to put a full stop after his trilogy of movies, and that audiences should know this really will be a true conclusion. The film hits cinemas July 20th, but for now enjoy the rather cool poster.

Empire Dark Knight Rises Covers Released

November 21, 2011 By Movie Muser Leave a Comment

I think it’s safe to say that more than a few people are interested in Christopher Nolan’s conclusion to his Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises. Indeed Empire is convinced it’s big enough that they are billing their latest issue, featuring the first interviews and pics from the movie, as ‘The Ultimate Exclusive’. They’ve also got dual covers you can see above and below, featuring Batman and Tom Hardy’s Bane.

The mag hits shelves on Thursday, at which point we’ll be able to tell for ourselves whether it really is the ultimate exclusive, or if Nolan is being as ridiculously secretive as he normally is (we wouldn’t be surprised if Empire had to wrestle these images from the director’s hands as he’s so reluctant to let anyone know what he’s up to until its time for a films’ release). The Dark Knight Rises hits cinemas July 20th, 2012.
