Last month it was revealed that Adam Sandler was ditching a comedy western he’s been planning and was instead hoping to lure Drew Barrymore into a reunion for a new rom-com. Now Variety reports that he’s got his wish, as Drew has officially signed on for the currently untitled comedy, which Frank Coraci is directing.
The movie is about a man and a woman who go on a disastrous blind date, and then get stuck at a family resort with their children from previous marriages. This will be Drew and Adam’s third film together after the 1998 comedy The Wedding Singer and 2004’s 50 First Dates.
Director Frank Coraci is currently rewriting the script, based on an earlier version by Ivan Menchell and Clare Sera. Shooting is scheduled to start this May.
