Aardman Is Making A Sequel To Shaun The Sheep

October 25, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

shaun-the-sheep-2While Aardman Animation has had plenty of critical praise and armloads of Oscars (mainly for Best Animated Short), but it’s had less success with its feature-length project at the box office, to the point the Sony Pictures Animation parted ways with the company after lower than expected return.  However, they’ve since team up with Studiocanal and decided that following the success of 2015’s Shaun The Sheep Movie, they’re working on a sequel.

Richard Starzak will once more direct, which will take us back into the world of the very smart Shaun, who’s always one step ahead of the farmer, and the other sheep.

David Sproxton Co-founder and Executive Chairman at Aardman comments: “Shaun’s move to the big screen proved such a success with audiences around the world that he and the flock are very excited to be embarking on another big screen adventure. Aardman is partnering with STUDIOCANAL once again to produce another rip-roaring comedy, featuring Shaun and the rest of the gang in a story that takes them to even greater heights of lunacy.“

As well as the Shaun The Sheep sequel, Aardman is also working on Early Man, which Wallace & Gromit creator Nick Park is set to direct.
