For quite a while now Fright Night’s Tom Holland has been planning to adapt the Stephen King novella The Ten O’Clock People, taken from the collection Nightmares And Dreamscapes. However while it was initially set to shoot 18-months ago with Justin Long starring, that never happened. Then Chris Evans was said to be interested, but it appears no deal was finalised.
However the project is still alive and THR reports that Justin Long has signed up to produce and star in the movie.
The movie will bring the 1993 story up to date, with Baruchel set to play Brandon Pearson, who attempts to quit smoking, but uncovers unknown and terrifying aspects of reality that you can only see if you’re trying to kick the habit. He realises that many of those in positions of power aren’t really human, and are instead inhuman monsters.
Holland has a bit of a Stephen King pedigree, having helmed The Langoliers and Thinner, and appeared as an actor in TV mini-series The Stand. The Ten O’clock People is currently being sold at the European Film Market.
