Apropos Of Nothing: Things Get Hot & Gay In The Locker Room In This Faux Superbowl Video

February 1, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

fake-superbowl-adIf only real locker rooms were like this. In this fake Superbowl commercial things get very homoerotic after the athletes try the unsurprisingly fictional Queer Beer.

It turns out that no matter how heterosexual sportsmen are at the start of the game, if they drink Queer Beer, by the fourth quarter it’ll have turned into a massive man-on-man make-out session, and clothes will have been shed. Lets hope it didn’t affect their performance on the field too much (although to be honest, I don’t really care as long as they all make out at the end).

The likes of Davey Wavey and many other hot, buff guys are involved, so take a look at the video below – because you won’t be seeing it during the real Superbowl. [Read more…]

Why Did Matt Damon & Ben Affleck Cut A Gay Sex Scene From Good Will Hunting?

January 29, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

ben-affleck-matt-damon-good-will-huntingThe finished version of Good Will Hunting wasn’t noted for its hot gay sex scenes, but that doesn’t mean they never existed! Indeed according to producer Harvey Weinstein, Matt Damon & Ben Affleck included one just to see who was paying attention.

While appearing on The Graham Norton Show, Weinstein told the host (via Mental Floss), “Everyone in Hollywood wanted Matt Damon and Ben Affleck and the film. In the meeting with them, I said ‘I only have one really big note on the script. About page 60, the two leads, both straight men, have a sex scene. What the hell is that?'”

It turns out though that it was included as a deliberate ploy, as the actors/writers told him, “That’s the scene we wrote to see if guys like you read the script, because every studio executive we went to hadn’t read it. You’re the only guy who brought it up, so you get the movie”.

Without any gay sex, the script went on to win Damon and Affleck the Best Original Screenplay Oscar, while the movie itself became a major hit, grossing over $200 million.

However I’m now kind of wishing I was a Hollywood executive, as I’d have told them I’d have made the movie, but only if they kept that scene in. Sure it wouldn’t have made any sense, but who the hell cares?

And just as an aside, isn’t it slightly disturbing how young Damon and Affleck look in the pic above?

Colin Farrell Is Impressed With Ewan McGregor’s Humility About His Large Penis

January 28, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

ewan-mcgregor-colin-farrellIt turns out that Colin Farrell doesn’t just like Ewan McGregor’s penis, he’s a big fan of the Scottish actor’s whole attitude towards what he has between his legs. Who knows, perhaps Farrell will start a fan club.

Okay, we’re exaggerating, but it’s Colin’s fault as in the latest issue of Nylon Guys he’s quoted as saying, “I don’t think Ewan is as proud of his penis as most men who are as well hung would—or should—or could be. I think that’s the greatest demonstration of his innate humility, that he doesn’t wear it like a badge of honor.”

While some are asking how Farrell know so much about McGregor’s man bits, it’s not like Ewan has exactly kept them hidden in movies ranging from The Pillow Book and Velvet Goldmine to Trainspotting and Young Adam. Colin may also have been been able to catch a glimpse when they worked together on Woody Allen’s Cassandra’s Dream.

And of course many also know what Farrell is packing from the sex tape which circulated a few years ago.

Things Get Steamy Between James Franco, Zachary Quinto & Charlie Carver In New I Am Michael Pics

January 22, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

i-am-michael-new-pic1With the Sundance Film Festival about the kick off, a lot of indie filmmakers are preparing to show off their movies for the first time, and that includes Justin Kelley, who’s taking I Am Michael to Robert Redford’s Utah-based fest.

With the premiere only a few days away, a new batch of images have arrived, some of which show things getting a bit sexy, including James Franco kissing Zachary Quinto (of as Franco describes him on Facebook, ‘the legendary’ Zachary Quinto). However the one that’s really likely to get your pulse racing is one of the ones below that features a threesome between Franco, Quinto and Teen Wolf star Charlie Carver.

Rumours of the threesome scene have already surfaced, with it previously described as ‘very hot’, with trio  ‘intertwined and kissing’, and that ‘You see their asses.‘

Based on a true story, in I Am Michael, James Franco plays Michael Glatze, who went from being a prominent gay rights advocate to becoming one of the poster-boys for the ex-gay movement when he found God, renounced his homosexuality and married a woman. Quinto plays Glatze’s onetime boyfriend, with Emma Roberts, Darryl Hannah and, of course Charlie Carver, also starring. [Read more…]

Did The Gay Secrets Behind Testament Of Youth Lead To A Young Man’s Tragic Death?

January 15, 2015 By Tim Isaac 5 Comments

taron-egerton-testament-of-youthThe new film version of Vera Brittain’s classic First World War memoir Testament Of Youth arrives in UK cinemas on January 16th. It tells the true story of Brittain and three young men during the war, showing both how Vera’s experiences as a nurse changed her and how the carnage of war decimated an entire generation of young men.

However while it is a true story, it may not be the whole truth – as it could be missing how the fate of one of the young men who is central to the story, might have been tied to his sexuality. To be fair, the movie is actually more upfront than the book, as while Brittain’s tome has extremely vague allusions that her brother, Edward (played by Taron Egerton), had ‘difficulty’ with women, the film is a little more explicit on what that difficulty might have been.

There may have been much more to the story though, as Vera Brittain biographer Mark Bostridge believes that Edward had several affairs with men and the discovery of this may have led to his death. The official account, as recounted in Testament Of Youth, is that Edward was killed by a sniper – the only officer who died in a June 1918 attack against Austrian forces on the plateau of Asiago in the Italian Alps. Chris Hemworth Gets All Wet & Sexy In A Water Fight With Jimmy Fallon

January 15, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

chris-hemsworth-jimmy-kimmelIf you’re going to be People’s Sexiest Man Alive, you’d better do some things to show why you earned that title. Chris Hemsworth was certainly on sexy duty during his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, when a fun water fight got ever more extreme, resulting in Chris essentially taking a shower on stage.

And due to the fact he was wearing just a thin, white shirt, it almost turned into a scene from Magic Mike. Indeed you have to wonder whether he went all the way through his wardrobe to find the piece of clothing that would turn most see-through when doused in water.

We’re certainly not complaining, and indeed perhaps Kimmel should make this a regular thing every time someone buff wants to be interviewed. You can take a look at the water fight below (it’s not until towards the end that it gets really moist). [Read more…]

Crush Of The Day: Looking’s Furry Murray Bartlett Gets Shirtless

January 13, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

murray-bartlett-shirtless4-slideIf you like your men hairy and past the age of twinkdom, today is your lucky day, as for the Looking Artist Sessions the sexy Murray Bartlett has gotten shirtless and shown off his exceedingly hot furry chest.

What some of you may not know about the openly gay Looking star is that he’s actually an Aussie (and yes, he has briefly been in both Neighbours and Home & Away). However in the early 2000s he started trying his luck in the US, appearing in several episodes of Farscape before signing on for the soap, Guiding Light.

Fans of gay cinema will also know him from the 2011 film August (as well as the short film it’s based on), but he’s certainly gotten a lot more fans since he started appearing in Looking.

After these pics though, I’m starting to feel he simply shouldn’t be allowed to wear a shirt. Click on them below for larger versions. [Read more…]

Chatting With Looking’s Frankie J. Alvarez: Handling Criticism & Being On ‘Team Ritchie’

January 12, 2015 By Tim Isaac 1 Comment

looking-frankie-j-alvarezIt’s a big month for fans of Looking, as the first season has just arrived on Blu-ray and DVD, and Season 2 is starting on TV (the first episode has already in the US and the it should arrive on Sky Atlantic in the UK shortly).

To celebrate the Season 1 DVD release of the show – which is about a group of gay friends in San Francisco – we caught up with Frankie J. Alvarez, who plays Agustin in the show, to put our questions to him. It was one of his first on-screen roles and he’s had to deal with a very mixed reaction to his character, so what does he think of it all? [Read more…]

Crush Of The Day: Jack O’Connell, Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller & Ethan Hawke Look Good For Prada

January 8, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

prada-jack-o-connell1-slideIt almost seems unfair that when people are already being extremely well paid to star in movies, they can also pick up endorsement deals and do a bit of modelling and get massive paycheques for that too – even if it involves very little work.

However if they go in front of a good photographer’s lens they can certainly look good, and that’s certainly true of Jack O’Connell, Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller & Ethan Hawke who’ve been getting stylish (is a little 1970s) for Prada and photographer Craig McDean.

The results of the collaboration have now been released and you can see the results above and below (click on the pics for larger versions).

It’s certainly nice that while they’ve chosen some of Hollywood’s best up and comers, they haven’t forgotten that people over 30 exist – and can be cool – with Ethan Hawke. [Read more…]

Everything You Need To Know About Russell T. Davies’ Gay-Themed Cucumber, Banana and Tofu

January 7, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Cucumber-Banana-TofuChannel 4 has announced that it’s gay-themed TV triptych from Queer As Folk creator Russell T. Davies will debut starting January 22nd at 9pm (and should hit Logo TV in the US shortly afterwards). They’ve now released their info pack, filled with all sorts of info about the shows, ensuring we’ve got everything we need to know.

So let’s start off with the overview: Sixteen years after Queer As Folk exploded on to the screen, award-winning writer Russell T Davies is back with Cucumber, Banana and Tofu: three new interlinked shows for Channel 4, E4 and online. Cucumber and Banana are two original drama series exploring the passions and pitfalls of 21st century gay life, while Tofu is an online documentary series that explores all facets of contemporary sex culture.

Channel 4’s Cucumber follows 46 year old Henry, played by Vincent Franklin (The Thick of It, Twenty Twelve) and his long-suffering boyfriend Lance, played by Cyril Nri (The Bill). Life for Henry and Lance is comfortable and settled. But after the most disastrous date night in history – involving a death, a threesome, two police cars and Boney M – Henry’s old life shatters, and his new life begins.

While Lance gets to know the mysterious Daniel (James Murray), Henry soon finds himself house-sharing with unexpected companions. The beautiful Freddie (Freddie Fox) and 19 year old Dean (Fisayo Akinade) have only been passing strangers, until now. But when they find themselves under the same roof they need to work out; are they friends or enemies?

And then there’s Henry’s sister, Cleo (Julie Hesmondhalgh) – busy, professional, and a little chaotic. But coping with her three kids is easy compared to helping her brother…

The cast for the eight-part series also includes Con O’Neill, Rufus Hound, Ardal O’Hanlon, Adjoa Andoh, Anjli Mohindra, Ceallach Spellman and Phaldut Sharma.

On E4, Banana is a series of eight witty, heartfelt and unique stand-alone stories covering different aspects of LGBT life. This series, which features exciting and emerging talent from the fields of acting, writing and directing, offers an intriguing and often unexpected peek into the individual lives, loves and losses of a range of diverse characters.

Young lesbian, Scotty (Letitia Wright) pursues an unrequited love; Dean (Fisayo Akinade) has mysterious family secrets and a sexually charged liaison with an enigmatic Geordie Man (Andrew Hayden-Smith; Sian (Georgia Henshaw) struggles to choose between lover Violet (Hannah John-Kamen) and her over-protective mum Vanessa (Lynn Hunter); and Helen (Bethany Black) is besieged by unwanted attention from an ex.

Tofu, meanwhile, extends the experience online. Made by prolific YouTuber, Benjamin Cook, this light-hearted documentary series explores modern sex in all its varied manifestations. Featuring a diverse range of candid chats with members of the public as well the stars of Cucumber and Banana, Tofu highlights the very real issues that are referenced in the fictional shows.

With the same ferocious wit, startling honesty and heartfelt warmth that made Queer As Folk a landmark series, Cucumber, Banana and Tofu will explore the heartbreak and joy of modern sex lives in all their many guises.
